00:01This was a grim discovery for emergency crews here at the Sylvan Caravan Park
00:07which is on Sydney Road in Campbellfield, about 13 kilometres north of Melbourne's CBD.
00:14This happened at about 4.30 with flames engulfing this cabin that is behind the crime scene tape behind me.
00:23Earlier this morning I spoke with Fire Rescue Victoria's Acting Commander Matt Nicholson.
00:28This is what he had to say.
00:30Crews were responded to a fire here at the Caravan Park at 4.26 this morning.
00:35On scene they were met with an intense fire.
00:38Crews brought the fire under control within approximately 10 minutes.
00:43And how many firefighters were involved in this?
00:46Was there any breathing apparatus? How difficult was the job?
00:49As I said it was an intense fire. FRV crews did a tremendous job.
00:53There was approximately 20 firefighters on scene.

01:01And I have since spoken to some people who live in this Caravan Park.
01:06They say that they were woken by the sounds of the sirens and say that they saw flames leaping into
01:13the air.
01:14We have seen Ambulance Victoria as well as the fire crews leave this morning.
01:19And not that long ago also there were specialist chemists from the arson squad who have arrived here to try
01:26to piece together exactly what sparked this blaze.
01:30There still hasn't been a cause determined yet or whether or not this fire is indeed suspicious.
01:37But police are asking for anybody with information to get in touch with them.
