00:08federal constitution after the two parties previously worked together.
00:13Sharizan Johan, Yang Shefura Othman, Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali and Sherina Abdul Rashid were responding to Hadi's claim that DAP
00:21wanted to steer the constitution towards secular rule.
00:25In a joint statement, they asked why the issue had never prevented PAS and DAP from cooperating under Pakatan Rakyat
00:32and contesting several elections together.

01:00the legitimate interests of all communities.
01:03They also argued that DAP's Malaysia for Malaysians slogan was based on equality under Article 8 and did not oppose
01:10Article 153 on the special position of Malays and Bumi Putras.
01:15The group warned against turning political differences into claims that non-PAS parties were un-Islamic, unpatriotic or disrespectful of
01:24the constitution.
01:25They added that Malaysian politics should focus on arguments and policies rather than fear involving race or religion, especially ahead
