00:10Haikal Shahrom was accused of causing unnecessary pain or suffering by strangling Rocky with a looped
00:16rope in Port Klang on July 29th. Owner S. Rogini Devi was separately accused of unreasonably
00:23pulling Rocky while the rope was around its neck, also causing unnecessary pain or suffering.
00:28Both charges fall under the Animal Welfare Act and carry fines of RM20,000 to RM100,000,
00:35up to three years imprisonment or both upon conviction. Prosecuting Officer Sharif Sabran
00:41told the Sessions Court that prosecutors would seek a joint trial as both cases involve the same facts.
00:47Case management was fixed for October 8th. Rogini was later charged separately in the Magistrates Court
00:53with keeping Rocky without a valid City Council license. She pleaded not guilty and was granted
00:59RM1,000 bail. Rocky died during the July 29th operation. The council later defended its officers
