00:17Hey Allure, it's Jordan Woods. Welcome to my wedding makeup and hair trial.

00:22I can't believe we're here. I have an idea of what I want. I just haven't seen it come to

00:28life.

00:28I haven't seen it on me. This is crazy. I can't believe I'm actually getting married. Let's do it.

00:38Hello.

00:40Hi.

00:42This is crazy. This is going to be our best glam yet.

00:46So, this is Kevin. He is doing my makeup. You guys will see the makeup. No pores, flawless, no notes.

00:53This is Devonte. He is my hairstylist and he is going to snatch me. Together it's perfection and I trust

01:03them and I know you guys are going to be wanting to recreate this look.

01:11So glam. What do we thank you?

01:12Glam. I want to feel like the best version of myself. I don't want to feel like I'm, I don't

01:18know, a lot of weddings are performative. I just want to look like beautiful, glowy.

01:22My dress, I would say requires like more of a simple hairstyle. So something pulled back and be like a

01:29mini, a mini facelift with the bun.

01:31Snatched. Okay.

01:32The veil needs a low bun. So I would say, let's just play around. I really just don't want to

01:38miss any of the party. I don't want to miss like the moment, so keep it like whatever we do.

01:44I want it to look good the whole time. Okay. Let's do it. Are you guys nervous? Oh my gosh.

01:52The reveal. The reveal. Don't look, guys.

01:55No, I had a shoot yesterday and I literally have washed my hair last minute and tried my best to

02:00do a quick blow dry. So I'm looking a little crazy.

02:11To make sure that I'm not frying her hair off, I'm using this thermal dry spray because it just protects

02:17her hair from all the heat that we're going to be using to get the style that we want for

02:22her. Beautiful day.

02:23And then I'll go behind with this brilliant polished silken gloss that I love by Kendra. And it gives a

02:34real high shine to the hair. My main focus right now is just keeping her hair hydrated and protecting from

02:40the heat.

02:42I also do color my hair. And she just freshly colored her hair. And I just freshly bleached it. So

02:47it is important that you use a hairstylist that cares about your hair health and not just the results.

02:58I just put some serum, toners, eye cream, and then this is just like a cooling tool that just kind

03:04of tightens the under eye and it just wakes her up.

03:07I actually use this personally. It's by Therabody.

03:11Therabody.

03:12I love it because I just keep it in my travel bag. And if you're traveling or whatever, it goes

03:17hot and cold.

03:18But it gets cold like instantly and you don't have to worry about like having ice or whatever. But I

03:23do think the day of we should get an ice bucket and I should just...

03:26And just dunk.

03:27Yeah. I've never actually done that. But I think that if I'm going to do it any day, it would

03:31be the right day.

04:02How did y'all meet?

04:04We met through mutual friends in L.A. about, I want to say eight and a half years ago. And

04:11we were just friends. Like it was not anything deeper than just a good friendship.

04:17And I just think over the years, our friendship kept growing stronger. And then when his mom got sick and

04:26passed away suddenly, with me having experienced what loss of a parent is like, it just, I don't know, just

04:34grew our bond a lot deeper. And now it's been six years and we're getting married.

04:42What was the moment when I was like, okay, let's explore?

04:44I probably shouldn't say this story. No, it was after his mom passed and went to Minnesota, which is where

04:53he was playing at the time. And there was just one night. I shouldn't say it.

04:59It was just, you know, when you cross that boundary with a friendship, it can really go any way. And

05:06I just never wanted to lose him as a friend. He's such a pure and amazing person.

05:11But I just also felt maybe this is what God is putting in front of me and maybe we should

05:18explore that. And I do think it was a higher power of both of our parents orchestrating things and kind

05:27of putting us in each other's lives.

05:29For a reason, yeah.

05:30I'm trying to figure out honeymoon here because we're going to be like in Africa.

05:36In Africa? The safari?

05:39Yep.

05:40Girl. Okay, that's a first.

05:42But then I'm also going to like an island after where I'm going to want to be in the ocean.

05:47So I'm like, what hairstyle? But I want it to still be baddie. But there's this braid girl. I'll show

05:54you after.

05:54I love you when you have your braids. I mean, I love every style you do. I think braids are

05:57like one of my signatures.

05:59They're so cute.

06:02So we're kind of just building out, what would you say, like a creamish color?

06:06Like a cream bone color, off white. She basically just wants like the eyelids to be open and bright. So

06:13we're just laying down like a bone color, like a cream base, like from here, like maybe three fourths of

06:18the way out.

06:18And then we're just going to, she likes like a little lift and a wing. So we're just going to

06:21wing this out a little with like a soft shadow.

06:24The thing about makeup is you can always build on it. If you start with something super dramatic, you can't

06:29really go back without removing the whole thing.

06:32So I'd always rather start with less and add. But I do like how you added the lighter brow gel.

06:41Since my hair is lighter, it actually was a nice touch.

06:44Your braids are honestly just so easy to do, though.

06:47Well, thank you. At least one thing's easy.

06:51Everything's easy.

06:52I think loving you may be easy. That's why you get married, bitch.

06:59So weddings are already stressful enough. And because I was doing it on such a limited timeframe and my schedule

07:07didn't allow me to like have moments to be with people and figure out outfits and whatnot,

07:13I decided to not do bridesmaids, but I'm still going to get ready with my best friends on the day

07:19of and I'll, you know, bring in the good vibes.

07:22But I'm going to be nervous, emotional. I think for me, I'm going to try not to get emotional right

07:29now.

07:30But just when you do lose your father at a young age, one of the things that you think of

07:37is your wedding day and him not being there is going to be already so emotional.

07:44So I think for me, just like getting through the ceremony part is going to like, this makeup is going

07:51to, we're going to have to redo my face probably, but it's okay.

07:56It'll be great. I think Carl also not having his mom, I know is going to be emotional and both

08:01of our parents not being there.

08:03We have so many great things to look forward to, but it's just still one of those things that no

08:07one prepares you for.

08:08It tells you how you should feel. It's just, it's going to be a lot. Um, but I started talking

08:14about bridesmaids and I got into emotions.

08:19I just don't love the, like all the girls lined up in the front because I just know there will

08:25be a moment where I'm like, this is the best photo of me.

08:27I love it. And then somebody looks crazy and then they're going to think I have something out for them

08:31that I posted that photo.

08:33I'm like, you know what? You guys can just sit in the front and look cute and not worry about

08:38standing or if there is grass, your heels sinking or how you look or being, it's just like,

08:43That's a go for it. It's easy. But even in the food, there's a lot of like personal touches.

08:48Like for after we have like these cookies coming that they only do at the Minnesota State Fair.

08:54Like they sell the dough in this grocery store in Minnesota. But like, if you want them freshly baked, you

09:00can only get them at the fair.

09:01So we're having like little, little personal touches where people think they're just cookies, but it's like something that means

09:07more than that to us just to symbolize that time in our lives.

09:15So I got proposed to on Christmas Eve. He actually didn't know that my parents also got engaged on Christmas

09:23Eve.

09:24So it was like a weird synchronicity with that moment. He just told all of us like, oh, it's Christmas

09:31Eve. I think we all should go.

09:32So I got this like private bar and we never do anything. And then he told me we should go

09:38day drinking.

09:38We're not big drinkers. So day drinking kind of raised my flags a little bit because I'm like day drinking.

09:45And then he asked me if I was getting my hair done. And so I call my best friend. I'm

09:48like, hmm.

09:50But it was perfect. It was so intimate. And my friend who I also had called saying that he surprised

09:57me with her coming.

09:59So she ended up coming and it was just a perfect day. It was so chill. It was perfect for

10:03us. And he was like, I want to do it this summer.

10:08So that gave me a very short window. I already knew who I wanted to plan to someone I've known

10:14for a long time. Mindy, she's just great.

10:17We're both Libras. We just are detailed people. I knew she could execute it. But overall, she just has a

10:23personality of someone I like to work with.

10:26We're very chill. She can work with a deadline. She never made me feel like six months was too short.

10:35She actually was like, this is more than enough time. So the first absolute first thing I did was go

10:42on my bachelorette.

10:44The next thing I did was during all star break, looked at venues. California has a lot of beauty to

10:51it.

10:51So the coastline PCH, even when my dad passed, like the ocean always to me was super healing.

10:59And I would just drive down PCH all the time and take the scenic route.

11:03So for me, it's very full circle.

11:09As much as in a perfect world, when I envisioned me getting married, I thought I would be like two

11:16years out.

11:17I'm going to get in the best shape of my life. I'm going to have the best skin. I'm going

11:21to have this, that, whatever.

11:22And when you make plans, God laughs. And my plans are a little different than I thought out of how

11:29my life and this timeline was going to work out.

11:32Trying to get in a consistent regimen when your schedule is like that. And then after winning, there's so many

11:38business opportunities.

11:39I mean, me having the lucky bag, my bag being in the Guggenheim, like all of the things happening, I

11:45had to kind of embrace that.

11:47So I put my self-care to the back burner a bit.

11:51For me, it's just kind of the week of really wanting to make sure I'm not like drinking before, hydrating

12:01properly, getting IVs, getting lymphatic massages.

12:04Just overall trying my best to take care of myself, but nothing like extreme.

12:10I see all these girls do all these extreme things and I'm kind of jealous. Like I wish I had

12:15the time.

12:16I have a manicure that I'm doing. I'm working with a girl I've never worked with before.

12:21I just know she's really good at nail art. So I'm loving the vintage lace kind of vibe.

12:27And I wanted to do a vintage lace kind of French tip nail. So I had her do a trial.

12:37You guys are getting like all the tea, all the tea.

12:41My birthstone is sapphire. So it's blue and Carl's is an orange garnet.

12:46So our birthstones are orange and blue. And I'm like, it's the irony of the Knicks winning and the orange

12:52and blue.

12:53And also inside of my ring, which I haven't talked about it that much with people, he put our parents'

13:01birthstones and our birthstones.

13:04And so there's like three on each side, which is kind of like completing the cycle of both of our

13:08families joining as one.

13:10And then a lot of people also don't realize that this is like pink diamonds gradient going down.

13:15Cause sometimes like people will look at him and be like, it looks pink. And I'm like, it is pink.

13:19It's actually a gradient from like a darker hue of pink down to just regular diamonds.

13:27There's a lot of intention.

13:30I just finished flat ironing her hair. That process helps eliminate any type of frizz and it really smooths the

13:37texture.

13:37Smooth foundation for the look that we're going for today, which is sleek, timeless bun.

13:44My bun positioning is going to be based on how my veil is. I wore a high bun to one

13:48of the fittings and the veil looks crazy.

13:52And so they recommended a low bun so the veil could sit properly.

13:57I think what we should do is like maybe here, because it also gives you that snatch.

14:01Yeah.

14:01That's what we all love about a ponytail or a bun is the snatch it gives you from your neck

14:06to your eyes.

14:06It's like built in Botox.

14:08Literally.

14:08I know what I'm walking to, but I want it to be a surprise.

14:13You do?

14:13It's not what people expect.

14:15It's almost like to my best friends.

14:18Though that's like my first relationship and we're still all best friends, but we loved, I honestly shouldn't even say

14:28this.

14:28We loved Twilight growing up.

14:31That was my jam.

14:32That is what I knew what I want my wedding to look like.

14:35A thousand years.

14:36I want to walk out to that song, but it's going to be on the violin and I just know

14:41all of them are going to feel very emotional because that was like our movie.

14:45I literally listened to the other day and I started getting emotional and I was like, this is kind of

14:51dark, but at my dad's funeral, I didn't have any intention of speaking.

14:58I didn't think I would be able to.

15:00It just kind of was not something I wanted to think about.

15:03And when I saw the pastor there, he asked me if I wanted to say something.

15:10Like he whispered to me, like, do you want to say something?

15:12Like, I guess, like, sure.

15:16After the friend said the speeches, they said, okay, now we're going to hear about his lifelong legacy and story

15:23from his daughter.

15:25And I was like, me?

15:28And I went up there.

15:30I blacked out.

15:31I don't even know what I was saying, but I just said a full speech and didn't cry or break

15:35down.

15:36It was like an outer body thing.

15:37And I just kind of like walked off and was able to say some impactful words to the people there.

15:45And I don't even know how that happened.

15:47So that's why I'm like, maybe this day I'll have some super power strength.

15:53Something's telling me the opposite.

15:55Did I call someone?

15:56Oh, sorry, mom.

15:59Oh, yeah.

15:59I'm just talking in my video about my emotions.

16:03What did you talk about?

16:05Dad's funeral.

16:07You came on a very impactful moment.

16:10I just heard someone like, hello?

16:13You walked up there and speak.

16:15And I didn't know how the hell you did it.

16:17Yeah, I don't know how.

16:18She said it just brought me back to when you did that.

16:21I'm like, I don't know how I did it either.

16:24You walked up there just like it was.

16:27You had it already planned.

16:29Like, you weaned it.

16:31You were the pillar of strength like you always are.

16:35And I sat in the basement.

16:36Like, how in the hell is she doing this right now?

16:39I don't even know how I did it either.

16:43But yeah, it's gonna be crazy watching your brother look just like your dad.

16:47I cried after my photo shoot ended yesterday and it wasn't even my wedding.

16:53So, yeah.

17:17So then there's no more tears left.

17:22A good tip is you can drop like one or two drops of these angla drops into your foundation.

17:28It's pretty much a sealer.

17:30So you add a drop of this into like a cream base and it activates the cream base and it

17:34completely seals it.

17:35So whenever you couldn't take your eyeliner off it's because this was in the liner.

17:39Also, whatever you did yesterday with the skin finish at the end, like how it was more dewy.

17:45I kind of liked that.

17:48Just because, you know, I'm not like a super sweaty person.

17:51I'll make sure someone has a fan.

17:52So like you can do dewy and it won't turn oily.

17:55I feel like it just makes it look more radiant.

17:57At least on my forehead.

17:57Yeah.

17:58I like a shiny forehead.

18:00So if you do a side fall, what's your side?

18:02This is my side.

18:09I like a middle.

18:10It's just going to be like slick all the way down, right?

18:13Well, there is like the idea of there's this one instant.

18:25I like a middle where, you know how they swoop it back and it's kind of like, I don't know

18:30how.

18:30It's not like flat down.

18:32Yeah, it's like swooped backwards.

18:39You know how when they sleek this back, they take this out?

18:42Yeah.

18:42And then it like pulls your eye back and then this can be sleek downwards.

18:45So this can just go snatched.

18:46Yeah.

18:47Yeah.

18:47This will lift your face and then your highlights will be sleek downwards.

18:51We were talking about it yesterday.

18:52He places my lashes above the lash line.

18:56So it kind of gives them more lifted.

18:58I feel like his makeup in person just looks like a airbrush machine and he can make anyone's

19:05face look airbrush.

19:07Not anyone.

19:10I've seen you do some work.

19:13The placement of the nose highlight is so good.

19:16She likes a little like highlight lifted button nose.

19:19So we literally just go slightly right here on the bridge.

19:22But like a super skinny brush and then like wide on the tip.

19:26It's like a built-in button nose.

19:30It's like six hands up here.

19:33One, two, three.

19:34It's so important to do this because he's using water.

19:38And we don't want our hair to revert back to its natural texture.

19:41But then it's important for me because I got to bring down the powders to make it look

19:45more like skin.

19:46Silver linings.

19:50Teamwork.

19:50Yeah.

20:20I'm gonna need my face snatched like lymphatic ice like there's no hiding anything with hair.

20:27We're talking about a bun that has a little bit of volume to it and not so tight and snatched.

20:32So this is just gonna allow me to probably place my pins and give some type of like direction and

20:39everything to the bun.

20:44So this is the finished makeup look.

20:46It's a soft bridal but still kind of sultry and still gives Jordan that snatched high effect.

20:52It looks so good.

20:54I expect nothing less from you though.

20:56I think this is the perfect beautiful base to build on even if we add like a little shimmer or

21:03wing as we transition into the night time.

21:06Or we can even smoke out the lash line underneath.

21:08We can go soft brown and you know make it a little more sultry.

21:11Or if she wants more definition we can tight line her with like a black or dark brown liner which

21:15would kind of really pull her eyes out and kind of give her that catty eye effect.

21:19It's gorgeous per usual I have no notes.

21:23I'm very very excited for the day.

21:24I'm so grateful that you're gonna be a part of it.

21:27I know I'm chill but I love a little drama and it's the subtlety.
