03:25in terms of in-ring work some of the angles also some of the more frustrating booking that they've had

03:31recently for some people let me get into it here stephanie vacure opens the show she's you know

03:36calling out live morgan she wants to fight to my surprise i expected becky to come out because i

03:41really think they need to lean into this becky lynch stephanie vacure food because it's something they

03:46haven't done before and it looks like pure money however that doesn't happen to my surprise live

03:52morgan actually starts to come out which leads to a three-on-one beatdown which you could see coming a

03:57mile away vacure is doing pretty good for herself but the numbers do get the better of her

04:01so we know what happens then becky comes out um becky is basically cleaning house and there's a

04:07moment where she and uh vacure almost come to blows um they end up getting each other's face and

04:14of course we got this back and forth banter going on between the two of them because they both want

04:18the women's championship and i understand that but there is a an element of understandability here

04:24that they should have in the story writing that vacure is not an idiot when you're you know out

04:29number three to one having help of any kind is a blessing and it's something they should be leaning

04:35into instead they're booking her character as so selfish and almost in a way narcissistic

04:40constantly saying i didn't ask for your help i don't need your help well obviously you did unless

04:44you're blind even a blind man could see you were getting your clock cleaned three on one yes you did

04:51need help so having her use that line it just doesn't work for me i think it's ridiculous booking

04:56it is very simple for the storyline to be i appreciate that you help me out but don't think

05:01that i'm not still coming for that championship it could go that way and that way at least makes

05:05more sense that being said didn't have a problem with the segment i just think the psychology of

05:11vacure's perspective is a little off i actually love becky's work here and i think liv is doing a

05:17role but the one concern i have in terms of liv is she's being made to look so weak during

05:23this

05:23reign not just is it that she's had one defense in a hundred and whatever days and all that but

05:28the fact that she's the in in this like triangle of women's championship um competitiveness right

05:34now she's the third wheel everybody's far more interested in vacure and becky lynch than they are

05:40live and that's problematic when she's the women's world champion um so i wish they were doing something

05:45to address that i'm not thrilled that it appears to me i feel somewhat strongly that one of these two

05:51ladies is taking that championship probably becky off of her and the problem with that is is we

05:57still haven't had the live morgan roxanne feud live morgan raquel feud both of those at some point

06:03need to happen they really do to bring everything full circle so i don't know we have to keep an

06:07eye

06:07see how things play out over the next few weeks we did find out that stephanie vacure is going to

06:11face roxanne perez in her first match back next week that should be a solid match roxanne perez does not

06:17get enough screen time she certainly doesn't get enough wins they book her as like the

06:21person to take the pin and so frequently and it's really a shame because she's probably the most

06:26talented person in the judgment day top to bottom with exception maybe of jd mcdonough but i'll get

06:31to that a little bit later for actually i'll get to that right now you get to the match with

06:35javon

06:35evans and jd mcdonough i feel terrible for jd that he's the size he is because he may be one

06:42of the best

06:42if not the best pound for pound wrestler in the world and he will do anything he's asked to do

06:47and it all looks quality and i hate the fact that this guy cannot seem to get a bigger break

06:52purely

06:53based on his body size when there are companies around the world that do promote those types of

06:57guys in the main positions and he's just not one of them that being said solid match top to bottom

07:02uh we see javon evans hitting the og cutter uh for the the win it was a beautiful og cutter

07:08too and the

07:09way mcdonough sold it was awesome he he really made his head snap down to the mat in a way

07:14that made it

07:15look like it was a straight up like almost like bulldog cutter it was awesome i really like that

07:19after the match big cast attacks again this is the third week in a row we're seeing this it's getting

07:25very monotonous for me they've still never really explained why he's back as a heel why he's attacking

07:31like somebody the size of these guys instead of somebody his own size and this time at least after

07:36he lays them out you know javon talks some more trash and they get into a physical thing and javon

07:41gets a little bit going before dom mysterio actually jumps in and throws him into a barricade giving

07:47the ring post leading to cast getting a bigger beat down i don't know i i don't have a great

07:52feel

07:53about why they're doing it with cast but if i get past that part the actual action was fine fantastic

07:59it really was from there we have this lucha tournament to determine roman reigns's opponent

08:05mexico city on raw in september we get ray phoenix taking out taking on el fiscal i honestly i i

08:13when

08:13you look at el fiscal i i don't know why but my brain went there i thought man this would

08:18be the

08:18opportunity for el fiscal to actually be la knight under a mask and like this was their way because

08:24el fiscal is a real wrestler down in triple a this would have been an interesting way to be able

08:28to get

08:29ray uh la knight into the tournament and get him the match in mexico city but i think they really

08:35are looking at the history of it and i think penta being the first uh mexican american or mexican to

08:39compete for the wwe championship in mexico is something pretty special and it sounds to me

08:44like that's the direction they're going to go but all in all solid match i mean look any match with

08:49phoenix he was putting on a clinic running the ropes everything it was it was awesome um i really

08:54appreciated this and this is obviously a lot of people in the united states first time to see el fiscal

08:59not going to say he lit the world on fire but he certainly didn't do poorly for his his debut

09:04on raw

09:04then we got dragon lee versus dr wagner jr here's where i get a problem okay my first real real

09:11problem

09:11of the night i understand dragon lee is a main roster talent i understand he's done some things in triple

09:17a but dr wagner jr el jijo de dr wagner jr is one of the most storied families and reputations

09:26and

09:27everything in all of mexico of all the people moving into the next round of the tournament you

09:31couldn't just let dr wagner jr be in the next round of the tournament why did you have to have

09:36dragon lee beat him i i'm struggling with that like this whole tournament makes the triple a talent

09:42look like crap and makes all the main roster stars look like studs and i i guess on the surface

09:48you kind

09:49of understand a little bit of that but the whole point is to be challenging a luchador triple a thing

09:55because remember ray mysterio is the one who set this up he's the triple a general manager so triple

10:01a should be represented in the match penta's not in triple a he's a raw superstar you know maybe he

10:08makes an appearance here and there but it's not the same i just i feel like that the the whole

10:12ray

10:12mysterio tie-in as the general manager of triple a is is kind of trash if you're not going to

10:17have any

10:17triple a guys at least in the finals and don't tell me ray phoenix is the triple a guy because

10:22he's

10:22the triple a cruiserweight champion that's bs he was a smackdown superstar all the way before that

10:29he's not a triple a guy so this would have been had he not gotten injured this would have been

10:34a

10:34great coming out party opportunity for uh v kingo who's out right now with a severe injury

10:40this would have been a great spot for him to be the one that challenged roman reigns if you wanted

10:43to put a legit triple a guy in there so we'll have to wait and see how things pan out

10:47but the

10:48tournament's going well the matches are fantastic i'm just that's the one match i think i would

10:52have switched up from there we get lyra valkyria's first match since beating bailey against soul ruka

10:58i don't know what to say here because i'm thrilled that soul ruka got the win i'm thrilled that she

11:04used the soul snatcher to do it i have no problem with either one of those i hate that valkyria

11:08has

11:08been off tv for a month or off wrestling for a month and when she comes back she eats a

11:14loss and i

11:15mean clean soul snatcher pin that's a problem for me because the whole point of this huge character

11:20change up would be to make her more menacing not easier to conquer so i hate the booking of her

11:26character here so again this is only the second time i'm going to say i really hated something here

11:30and at the same time i don't really want soul ruka to lose this would have been good for a

11:36double

11:36downs a double count out double disqualification something so that both stay strong nobody eats a

11:42loss but that obviously is not how triple uh h wants to book this little little strange to me

11:48from there we get a backstage segment with the vision and when they finally go to braun

11:54he makes it clear that you know he's going to address oba femi in the ring tonight everything

11:59before that was just stupid back and forth banter about the vision i i'm kind of overseeing

12:03austin theory and maxine already but braun then marches to the ring hit his music he's calling out oba

12:10and i loved it i love when he was calling him out and then paul hayman comes out

12:13and hayman's trying to temper things and whatnot and then oba's music comes out when uh braun starts

12:21asking paul again who is going to be the future of wwe oba comes out there's a little bit of

12:25back

12:26of conversational situation but paul hayman steps in and prevents it from happening on raw and says no

12:33we are publicly traded company we have shareholders that we have to consider this match i've already

12:39had it signed with adam pierce now here's the problem with that he's not their manager anymore

12:45supposedly remember he left the vision so how could he negotiate braun's contract if he doesn't

12:50represent braun anymore if he does represent braun then what was the angle a couple weeks ago that's

12:55really dumb booking to me also however he says he's already booked the matches for sunday night's main

13:00event braun breaker versus oba femi first time ever which whatever um i love that they're doing it

13:07it's saturday night's sunday night's main event i don't love that we still haven't had one punch

13:11thrown between the two on television um in dark matches yes but not on television i'd like to see

13:17something on tv i don't even know how to book the match obviously everybody's opinion is you can't beat

13:23oba because he's going to be the guy to dethrone roman at some point but i'm having trouble with that

13:27too i'll get to that in a few seconds but you know this this match is big and the way

13:32i keep thinking

13:33about it is there are two championships the wwe championship and the world heavyweight championship

13:37you don't have to have these two destroy each other and have anybody be pushed down the card

13:42they can both be the future of wwe on two separate brands especially when we have that crown jewel

13:48championship where the two champions face every year that i've said it before in previous episodes

13:52i feel like these two could be the randy orton john cena feud of a lifetime for this generation i

13:57really

13:57do i'm gonna have to see where this goes at the end of the segment braun is leaving the ring

14:02with paul and paul turns around and shakes oba's hand which you can see the concern and frustration

14:07on on braun's face when paul hayman shakes oba's hand and that's just a whole nother layer that

14:13they're putting in there we get to the highlight of the night for me one of two the highlight of

14:18the night for me is the match chad gable versus ray mysterio this if i'm giving stars man four and

14:25a

14:25half at least this was a fantastic television match this was like throwback to old

14:32school intercontinental championship matches this was awesome chad gable is absolutely the perfect

14:38guy to be the intercontinental champion ray mysterio at his age still being able to do everything he did

14:42last night was incredible what a great match this was one of my favorite matches of the year so far

14:49on raw and i loved it i absolutely loved everything about it lots of showing respect from ray at the

14:54end putting the belt on him holding his hand up it was really really wonderful and it really is a

15:01great way to like cap off the whole lucha slash chad gable tie-in thing i hope he moves on

15:06to

15:06something bigger now um not sure where that's gonna go but this was perfect just my opinion we get to

15:13the main event segment and there's a lot of good here and there's a little bit of bad let's get

15:19into

15:19it the usos come out they're gonna deliver solo to the tribal chief jacob comes out as well roman

15:26comes out in the conversation roman gets frustrated with solo he takes his glasses off smashes him

15:32talks about his watch talks about his chain around his neck talks about why are you looking at me like

15:38that because solo's giving him that look jacob fatu attacks him and and uses his tongan death grip and

15:45puts him down while he's down roman grabs two black ulafalas and puts them on the uso boys jay and

15:53jimmy

15:53and calls them his captains you can see the look on jacob's face he's frustrated that he basically

16:00he's being excluded from this conversation but he doesn't do anything about it then they're looking

16:06like they're gonna beat down solo some more and here comes la knight now la knight hits the ring

16:11um gets gets rid of the usos in in quick order when he gets into the ring he's looking at

16:18jacob he ends

16:19up eating a superman punch from roman um he goes down and then they're getting solo and they're

16:26basically telling him that he has to spike la knight so um jacob was gonna attack la knight and and

16:34roman held him back or whatever um they do a whole thing where you know they're gonna spike they're

16:40gonna spike um when he holds him back he ends up going after him goes to hit another superman punch

16:45gets stopped um hits a bft so roman's down for a hot minute um

16:54everybody gets back in the ring and then at one point they have have it set up where they're all

16:57they're all jump night and they're holding him up and they get um solo to get in his face they're

17:04like you're gonna spike him and he's going i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry and then he spikes roman

17:09reigns how awesome and i love the segment the fans went ballistic he did a slow gun pull from his

17:16chest pocket and took a shot you know at jay and it was phenomenal absolutely phenomenal solo is as

17:26over as anybody in the company right now as is la knight so here and all of that is wonderful

17:33i have

17:33no problem with any of it but but that being said here's the issue right we've now got a situation

17:40where we i think a large number of fans really want to see la knight win the wwe uh world

17:48heavyweight

17:49championship and i get it i do too however because of solo there's now a large number of people that

17:55want to see solo become the world heavyweight champion however we've got a luchador tournament

18:01where penta is probably going to be the one challenging for the world heavyweight championship

18:06however none of the three of them can dethrone him if your only plan is for oba to dethrone him

18:12at

18:12mania unless you're going to somehow put the belt back on him but then it almost seems counterintuitive

18:16to take it off him to begin with what are you going to do take it off and put it

18:20back on him at like

18:20survivor series royal rumble something like that only to have him defend it at mania against oba but if he

18:26takes a loss now he looks weaker for when he goes up against this unstoppable guy in obafemi so

18:31it's very strange booking and i'm not a big fan of the way they're doing the world championship

18:35picture but i love that there's so many people legitimately in the picture it's very aew-esque

18:40where there's so many challengers at the top of the card but nobody feels like a legitimate threat

18:44to the title except for one person in wwe's case it's open aew's case it's uh will osprey everybody

18:51else is a great competitor but i don't see them winning anything and that creates a little bit of a

18:56vacuum at the top of the card i'm not real thrilled with that but i love all the character

19:00development love what they're doing with solo love the la knight is starting to really be featured

19:03prominently um a lot of other parts of the show are just fantastic love becky's character switch

19:08up to going to this character a lot of this is just solid solid stuff if you like my breakdown
