00:00Is there a reason to be concerned about the wide receiver room?
00:03We're talking about A.J. Brown.
00:04You have to replace that production, at least in part, from the wide receivers.
00:07Is this something you'd be concerned about heading into the season?
00:11Yeah, I mean, to a certain degree, John, yes.
00:14One, because Brown was such a big part of this offense,
00:18and it was just such a luxury for Hurts if you get into a third and long
00:23or whatever the case may be.
00:24It's like, all right, I have Brown.
00:25I know that he can win his one-on-ones.
00:27I have a comfort level with him, and we can just rock and roll that way.
00:31You take that away, and, of course, you have to have questions.
00:34As much as this city has been sort of convincing itself, like, ah, you know,
00:38who needs A.J.?
00:39You know, let's see what that ends up looking like.
00:42Now, Devontae Smith, I believe, is a number one wide receiver,
00:46and, of course, it gave people some apprehension that he has been dealing
00:49with a hamstring injury for seven practices that he missed,
00:52but he got back on the practice field yesterday.
00:54I was watching him cut and run, and he looked like normal Devontae Smith,
00:59so I think that's encouraging.
01:00Mekhi Lemon has been ramping up.
01:02We saw him do a little bit more yesterday than we have seen him do,
01:05really, since he re-aggravated that hamstring,
01:08so I think that's encouraging.
01:10And we have seen some flashes from Dontavian Wicks.
01:12Of course, Nick Sirianni keeps comparing him to Keenan Allen.
01:15I think maybe slow down on that, but we have seen the Wicks have some good practices
01:20and some good days and some good chemistry with Hertz.
01:24When I look at it from a depth perspective
01:25and you see Hollywood Brown as, like, your fourth or fifth option,
01:28like, that's not bad.
01:29You know, eventually I think he can get some production for you.
01:32So I don't think that the depth is bad.
01:34It's just more of a matter of, like,
01:36you're just not as loaded up top as you once were.
01:40You're just not as good as you once were.
