00:00After watching the World Baseball Classic, I think they could be pretty good.
00:04I do.
00:04Well, because some of the Red Sox players in that tournament represented well.
00:08And it wasn't just Roman Anthony.
00:09Willie Rebreu was awesome for Team Venezuela.
00:12You know, there were some Red Sox players that stood out in that thing.
00:14So, yeah, now you should feel good about them just based on that alone.
00:17Well, and here is the problem.
00:19That the way it works in sports, we always focus on the thing that happened most recently.
00:24And we say, can you take the next step?
00:27And so we judge you on the last thing that we saw.
00:31And when you have young teams or younger teams, it's a hard thing to do.
00:35Because now you're projecting.
00:37So none of us are going to believe it until we see it.
00:41But if you're asking me today, based on what I saw in spring training,
00:45is Roman Anthony going to be exactly what he was in the middle of the season when we saw him
00:49at his peak?
00:50Yup.
00:51He might even be even better.
00:52He's improved.
00:53Is Willie Rebreu a better player than he was a year ago?
00:57Yup.
00:58And he's in better shape.
01:00So, now, can he stay on the field?
01:02I don't know.
01:03But do I think Willie Rebreu is better?
01:05Yes.
01:06Do I think Jaron Duran could play more like he did in 2024 than in 2025?
01:13Yup, I do.
01:15Based on what I saw in spring training.
01:17Now, are they short a right-handed bat?
01:19Probably.
01:21But, if Duran, Anthony, and Abreu all play like they did during the World Baseball Classic,
01:30the Red Sox will be in the playoffs and there'll be a threat to win the World Series.
01:34I believe that.
01:35So, I am, believe it or not, I know this is unusual.
01:39I am optimistic.
01:40I feel pretty good about them.
01:43I feel pretty good about them.
