The latest trustee for Nick Reiner‘s trust fund has blocked his request to access money from it to cover court fees and commissary costs, citing California’s “slayer statute.”

00:00Nick Reiner is very much entitled to his own money, his own funds, and that's what this process is about.
00:07He has made a determination that he wants to be able to use his funds that are in his trust
00:13account to decide on his criminal counsel.
00:18And when he is allowed to do that, he will then be able to defend himself in the way that
00:22the Constitution indicates.
00:24He should and can defend himself.
00:26That's why this litigation is going on and going forward, because it's about Nick Reiner's money, his own money.
00:34And I think today was an example of the trustee simply obstructing and not allowing Nick access, immediate access, to
00:44funds to which he is legally entitled.
00:47And our hope is that at some point in the very near future, Judge Garcia makes determinations or the parties
00:54can settle and ultimately make the determination that Nick is entitled to his own money and get those funds and
01:01start defending this case the way that he wants to defend it.
