Yemen risks return to 'full-scale conflict' if Houthi strikes continue, UN rights chief warns

Earlier this month, the Houthi rebels launched their deadliest attacks in years, killing 58 government troops, according to a military source, mainly in the oil-rich Marib province.

00:02The United Nations said it is alarmed at the rising toll of escalating hostilities in Yemen,
00:09urging an end to any actions that risk returning Yemen to full-scale conflicts.
00:14Earlier on Monday, UN Human Rights Chief Volker Turk warned that the country risks a return to
00:20full-scale conflicts. Yemen has been embroiled in more than a decade of civil conflicts.
00:25Last month, it was dragged into the Middle East war as the Iran-backed Houthis upended the
00:312022 truce with the Saudi-backed government ramping up attacks.
00:35We urge all parties to halt immediately any actions that risk returning Yemen to full-scale conflict.
00:42We call on all parties to de-escalate tensions and spare the Yemeni people from further misery.
