00:03Sophie Adneau is writing a new page in French astronomy.
00:06Six months after joining the International Space Station,
00:10the aeronautical engineer made her first spacewalk this Tuesday.
00:15Adneau became the second European woman and the first French woman to carry out such a mission.
00:21The journey is carried alongside with the American Annie Menon.
00:26The operation began around 2.30 p.m. French time and was scheduled to last no less than six hours
00:33and a half.
00:34The objective is to replace the space-to-ground antenna,
00:38which is essential for high-start data transmissions and communications between the ISS and ground control centres.
00:46To do so, Sophie Adneau carries in her diving suit a litre of water and oxygen,
00:51enough to last about 10 hours in space.
00:55We're on the Soyuz spacecraft looking at the International Space Station.
