00:00Okay, Nicole, Love It or Leave It, Spice Cabinet Edition.
00:02Okay.
00:03Starting with garlic powder.
00:04Love it.
00:05I don't use it as a replacement for garlic,
00:07but I love the crust that it makes and flavor that it offers.
00:10I use it every day.
00:11White pepper.
00:12Leave it.
00:13If you love the smell and taste of musty, dirty socks,
00:19then maybe you'll love it.
00:20What about onion powder?
00:21Love it.
00:21I don't use it as much as garlic powder,
00:23but it's just essential sometimes in marinades and rubs.
00:26Iodized salt.
00:27Leave it.
00:28Sometimes it's good to have on hand for baked goods,
00:31but as long as you have another fine salt,
00:32that's better than the iodized salt.
00:34Plus, it's super concentrated.
00:35You really have a hard time gauging the salt in your dishes when you use that.
00:38Italian seasoning.
00:39Leave it.
00:40You have everything individually already in your spice cabinet.
00:43You don't need that one.
00:44Plus, I think it has some herbs in there that I would not normally put in my Italian dishes.
00:49Black pepper.
00:50Love it when I'm lazy.
00:51I definitely prefer the flavor of freshly cracked pepper.
00:54I collect pepper mills, love them,
00:55but sometimes it's just easier to grab that pepper.
00:59The flavor is not as good, though.
01:01What about cumin?
01:01Love it.
01:02I use it in a lot of things.
01:04I make moment taco seasoning.
01:05You know, smoky, earthy.
01:07Love it.
01:07Firstly.
01:08Leave it.
01:09It is cheap to buy.
01:11Dried parsley tastes like nothing.
01:12What about sage?
01:13Love it.
01:14The dried sage tastes like the fresh sage.
01:17You don't use it that often,
01:18so it's just one that's good to have on hand.
01:21Rosemary.
01:21Leave it unless you love dried Christmas tree needles.
01:24What about thyme?
01:26Leave it.
01:26It tastes like burned, bitter thyme.
01:32The only time I use it is for certain Cajun dishes and spice rubs.
01:36However, if you buy a Cajun seasoning blend,
01:39it has just the right amount of thyme already in it.
01:41Lemon pepper.
01:41Love it.
01:42It's just a nostalgic taste.
01:43I love it on my chicken wings, so we always have it.
01:46What about dried chives?
01:47Leave it.
01:48It tastes nothing like the fresh version.
01:51What about nutmeg?
01:52Love it, and I especially love the whole nutmeg.
01:54But remember, a little bit goes a long way.
01:56Kosher salt.
01:57Love it.
01:58It's, to me, my favorite kind of salt,
02:02and not sponsored, but this is the best kind.
02:05You can really control and feel the grains.
02:08It's not too coarse, not too fine.
02:10What about cayenne pepper?
02:12Love it.
02:12It's just the right amount of kick that you can't really get elsewhere.
02:16Lasts for a long time.
02:17A little goes a long way.
02:18It gives you the perfect, like, kick in the back of your throat.
02:21And paprika.
02:22Love it.
02:23There's just a time and a place for paprika.
02:25A lot of people think it doesn't have a lot of flavor,
02:27but it does kind of offer just a super subtle, like, earthy sweetness.
02:31Thanks, Nicole.
02:32You're welcome.
