00:10And then it came out that he wasn't even registered to vote there.

00:18Lindell is currently the frontrunner for the Minnesota Republicans race for governor,
00:22up nine points with Trump's endorsement.
00:24He built his political brand on the claim that voter rolls are rigged,
00:27stuffed with people who shouldn't be on them.
00:30And then the Star Tribune checked whether Lindell himself was registered to vote in Minnesota.
00:35He was not.
00:36You see, Minnesota only registers you to vote through your driver's license if you prove citizenship.
00:42When Lindell got his Minnesota license, he didn't provide that proof,
00:46so the system didn't register him.
00:48The Star Tribune then reported that he had no active voter registration,
00:51so he registered three days later, saying the system should have caught him,
00:55but the state stood by its records.
00:57So the man who spent years arguing voter rolls are full of people who shouldn't be on them
01:01was kept off a voter roll because he didn't clear the citizenship step.
01:05And his own party is now asking the state whether he even qualifies to run.
01:10To qualify for governor, Minnesota requires you to have lived there for a year before the election,
01:15and in a court filing from January 2025, Lindell described himself as a Texas citizen.
01:21Early voting is underway.
