00:00New York Yankees in the AL Leafs, they dropped the series to the Houston Astros. Embarrassing
00:03yesterday. You have your, I guess, de facto ace based on how much you're paying the guy and the
00:07expectations coming from a free agent. That's Max Fried, who was wonderful, Joe, to start the
00:12season. But now every game, he's given up three, four earned runs here, certainly not being that
00:15shutdown guy. Jason Alexander comes in as just a journeyman average pitcher. It feels like six
00:21innings pitch, one hit, no earned runs in the Bronx on a big swing day here. The New York
00:25Yankees mustered three hits yesterday and just limped to the finish line. And also talk about
00:30the game Saturday. Like they're lucky they got a big time base hit late in that game to win that
00:34one. Otherwise it probably would have been a sweep to the Houston Astros. Things aren't right in New
00:38York. And yesterday, seven to one certainly wasn't right for them either. No, they are not. They're
00:45just not playing good baseball. It's just not. I mean, they are 44 and 43 since May 1st. I mean,
00:54that's how mediocre they have been since we started the month of May, which means they were
01:00very good in April. But my goodness, it is just the wheels have fallen off. I'll tell you the good
01:06thing yesterday is that, and you and I talked about it last week, we were laughing. They brought
01:12Devin Williams into a four nothing game in the sixth inning with absolutely no leverage, no nothing
01:19going. They brought him into sixth inning. What does he do? He goes one, two, three strikes out
01:24the first two hitters. And you're going, where has that been? You know, Devin Williams to me is an
01:31X factor for this Yankees. If they can get his head screwed on right over the next couple of weeks,
01:37having him and an ability to be able to make it a five, six inning game and having that back end of
01:43the bullpen because Bednard looks like your closer now. But if you have Devin Williams also in the mix
01:48here, the Yankees have all the potential in the world. They just have to start playing better baseball.
