00:07hideousness. Monsters with awful scaly skin, hands made of brass, fangs more like tusks, talons of ire, serpent coils as
00:17legs, poisonous snakes as hair, and eyes of death itself.
00:21So horrifying were they, that a mere gaze upon them, petrified anyone to death, and turned them into stones. The
00:31Gorgons, children of the sea, daughters of the deep.
00:50Euryale, the fast bringer, the wide leaper, the squid like one. Born after Steno, and before Medusa, she was the
00:59second eldest of the Gorgons.
01:01The daughter of the sea god forces, and the goddess of the deep, Ceto, she was also the sister to
01:08Laiden, Thusa, the Hesperides, the Gray, and the six-headed Skylar.
01:15Euryale neither had the might of Steno, nor the wits, of Medusa, but she was the fastest, and the most
01:21agile of them.
01:23She could spring to great heights, with ease, and cover far distances, with just a single leap. Thus, she was
01:30called the far leaper.
01:32With loud deafening cries that echoed through the caves, and terrifying death bellows that reverberated through the earth, she was
01:40the loudest of the sisters, the noisiest of the three.
01:44Like the Gorgon she was, Euryale had the hands of bronze, the lower body of a snake, skin covered with
01:51scales, sharp tusks, as fangs, long snaky tongue, pair of living venomous snakes, and glowing eyes which turned people to
01:59stones.
02:00As a distinct physical feature however, Euryale had tough knuckles, instead of claws. Her skin was of gray, or violet
02:09color, and the snakes on her head, were of the same grayish or violet color.
02:14Like her elder sister Steno, she was an immortal Gorgon, who neither grew old, nor died.
02:21Born in the caves beneath Mount Olympus, Euryale rarely ever left her home.
02:27With her Gorgon sisters, she hid in the darkness of the caves, away from the light, laying waste to any
02:33victim, who trespassed into their territory.
02:36In a different version of the myth, the three Gorgons were once maidens, who served the virgin goddess, Athena.
02:43When the pretty Medusa, incurred the wrath of Athena, by being defiled, she was transformed into a Gorgon, along with
02:50Euryale and Steno, who stood with her.
02:54Being too ugly for the world, they withdrew, to the dark caverns.
02:59After the mortal Medusa was beheaded by Perseus, it was Euryale's death bellowing screams, that drew the attention of Steno.
03:07They both tried to avenge their sister's death, but failed, because Perseus was aided by the gods.
03:14With the loss of one of their own, it is said, that the immortal two, Euryale and Steno, found a
03:20new home, in the underworld, as servants of Hades, tormenting the souls of the dead, at their masters will.
