Here’s a clip from Doug Lawrence’s interview with me on The Mind of Sai Marie.

Doug breaks down the raw, quiet reality of fighting through life’s darkest seasons in an era starved for genuine human connection.

As an international best-selling author and global mentoring pioneer—and currently the only mentor in the world holding the IMC’s historic Journey Mentor Fellowship—Doug has dedicated his life to creating safe harbors for people carrying heavy burdens. But as so many are quietly discovering, navigating grief, mental health struggles, and personal isolation is a journey few are equipped to walk alone. Doug pulls back the curtain on the critical intersection of mentorship and mental health advocacy, showing us how structured, empathetic support can alter the trajectory of a life.

This conversation is about more than just overcoming loss—it’s about the vital power of emotional healing, breaking the silence around mental health, and learning how to hold space for the stories that need to be held.

00:26It can act as the bridge between access to different mental health practitioners.
00:34It can act as the bridge.
00:36And what I mean by that is today I have an appointment with a psychologist.
00:40I can't get back to see that psychologist for four to six months.
00:45And where do I go?
00:47Who do I turn to?
00:48And that's where the mentor comes in to be able to provide that support that the person needs.
