00:00Ultimately tackling the climate crisis is a way of tackling the cost of living crisis.
00:04If we insulate every home in Britain that needs it, that would keep homes warm in the
00:08winter, yes, obviously, but also cool in the summer.
00:11And as we're seeing right now, that is just as important.
00:14Also renewable energy is the cheapest form of electricity.
00:17So this is the exact moment to get on the front foot and make sure we're investing in
00:21the future energy and future clean energy.
00:24And most of all, what we absolutely need to do is stop making things worse.
00:28And the way we stop making things worse is stop talking about drilling for oil and gas
00:32in the North Sea.
00:33That's not just a political conversation, by the way.
00:35That's a geological conversation.
00:37We have already extracted most of the reserves from the North Sea.
00:41So when governments tell us they're doing this for jobs, if we look at Jackdaw, for instance,
00:45there's 27 jobs.
00:47It's a complete lie to say that this is being done for jobs.
00:49This is being done to please fossil fuel giants, to please the oil and gas giants.
00:54And what the government needs to do is grow a backbone and stand for the planet and stand
00:58for our communities.
00:59And say no to oil and gas.
