Energy Secretary Ed Miliband accused Reform UK and the Conservatives of “waging war on clean energy investment”, warning their stance on fossil fuels would “destroy jobs, put up bills and betray young people”. He said the UK must move away from fossil fuels to “homegrown clean power” to protect families from future energy shocks.

00:00I'm afraid reform and the Tories have no answers to this.
00:02They want to double down on the very fossil fuels
00:05that led to the worst cost of living crisis in generations
00:09when Russia invaded Ukraine.
00:10Russia invaded Ukraine, prices went through the roof,
00:13British families, British businesses paid the price.
00:15There is only one way through this,
00:17which is to get off those fossil fuels,
00:19controlled internationally,
00:21and get onto homegrown clean power.
00:24I think it's very, very bad
00:26that reform and the Tories have taken the route they have.
00:28It will be bad for jobs because we wouldn't be getting...
00:31Reform have said they want to wage war on clean energy investment.
00:35That's waging war on these new jobs we're creating.
00:37So they destroy those jobs, they put up bills,
00:41and they will betray young people.
