00:00Brad Pitt says he's drinking alcohol again after seven years of sobriety.
00:04The topic came up when the F1 and Fight Club actor was doing a recent interview for Esquire.
00:09Pitt offered the interviewer a glass of wine, which prompted the reporter to ask him whether
00:14the wine was only for guests. Pitt said, no, I got, I was sober for seven years.
00:19He continued with a little laugh, and then I got back off the wagon. The actor went on to clarify
00:25that his drinking is now in a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times,
00:29went, yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities. When asked what that meant in
00:34practice, the 62-year-old star explained, I can have a few glasses of wine, but I can't have a
00:39lot.
00:40I have to be professional about it. In a 2017 GQ interview, Pitt talked about getting sober.
00:45A couple years later, he told the New York Times that he spent a year and a half in an
00:49all-male
00:49recovery group in Alcoholics Anonymous. And in 2020, Pitt publicly thanked Bradley Cooper at
00:54the National Board of Review gala for helping him get sober.
