00:00One thing I love about this movie is that it really has that idea that it's never too late
00:05to have these different versions of yourself. Have you ever had to change your idea of what
00:11success looks like? Many times, I think. Yeah, I think it deepens and gets more profound as you
00:25get older. I think when I was younger, it really had to do with could I get a film someday?
00:34Then I
00:34did get a film. And then you have to figure out, wait, I took my own dream away. What do
00:40I dream
00:40about now? And then it was maybe have this and a family. Then I did have a family. So your
00:49dreams
00:50kind of are this beautiful snowball that keeps growing and growing. And so I think that it just
01:01changes as you get older. And I would say in a really good way. I love that. And I mean,
01:07Candice
01:07is funny. She's confident. She's sexy. Did anything surprise you about yourself playing her? And were
01:13there any unexpected challenges? Well, it was all a challenge because I had only just started playing
01:22pickleball just coincidentally about two months before this movie. And I was supposed to I mean,
01:28Candice wasn't supposed to be a pro, but she was supposed to be a decent, you know, pickleball player.
01:34And I don't think I thought of myself as decent yet. And so I really dug in there. And I
01:42took lessons
01:43with Brad Gilbert. And I mean, the great Andy Roddick gave me pointers and hit with me. And I just
01:51tried to absorb and learn from everybody and practice as much and as fast as I could to get
01:57there. Jake had an even harder job because he had to learn both tennis and pickleball. And he hadn't
02:05really played either. And he was totally inspirational because he did such a good job.
02:11Um, so it was just all of it. My favorite thing in the world. I love puzzles. And I felt
02:19like all this
02:20was just a beautiful puzzle. How do you play a sport while saying your lines? How do you,
02:27um, you know, play a sport while leading with your heart? You know, how do you do all this? And
02:33it was
02:34just, um, it was really a beautiful puzzle. That's also like such a, um, coincidence that
02:41you had just started playing before. I know. That's it's like, well, I feel like a lot of
02:47actors are always like, Oh, we, you know, we, you want me to be a horseback rider. I'll be a
02:50horseback. Right. No, my son, my son bought my, a paddle for me and gave it to me. And he
02:58said,
02:58I honestly think you could be good at this.
