00:00Now it's the sit down with Elizabeth Olsen and Alicia Vikander.

00:03Hi, you two.

00:05The assessment is receiving a lot of praise.

00:07It takes place in the near future where life is much more regulated.

00:11If you want to have kids, you have to be assessed by a person before you can have them.

00:15So Elizabeth, you play one half of a couple that wants to have a kid and Alicia, you play

00:19the woman who assesses.

00:20Where did you each go psychologically to get into character?

00:23I get to imagine and use my, you know, creative just thoughts, so trying to understand behavior

00:31and humans.

00:32In this film, I had quite a few scenes where I got to stretch my kind of actions and do,

00:38you know, a performance that was quite far away from anything I've done before.

00:42You cannot behave like this if you want a child.

00:45I want a real child, not this.

00:48Okay, so your husbands are both in entertainment.

00:50Did either of you have a visitor on set?

00:52I was traveling alone, so I didn't have that.

00:55My husband was with me because we, I mean, it's, we try, so, you know, one part, you

01:00know, we have children too, so he was at home with the kids when I was working and then

01:05we normally switch.

01:06How important is it to get that support at home?

01:08You know, having a partner who totally understands the demands.

01:11I know people talk about separating work and life and whatever.

01:15To us, the thing that we love most is talking about story, is talking about work, is talking

01:20about why we do it, what's a good way to crack it.

01:23It's my favorite thing to talk about.

01:24I mean, one of my favorite things to talk about with my husband, and so I endlessly

01:28enjoy it.

01:30I think having somebody who understands and, you know, really gets the passion that you

01:36have, then, you know, it's wonderful to have those talks, you know, that are very sincere

01:41about, you know, things that you are trying to figure out.

01:46It's wonderful the kind of conversations you can have when you're, when you're sharing

01:49something that you're really passionate about.

01:52By the way, Alicia, I saw Black Bag starring your hubby and it's amazing.

01:55Yeah, I can't wait.

01:57I haven't seen it yet.

01:58Who's the suspect?

01:59Your wife.

02:00I'm going to, I'm going to see it very soon.

02:04Alicia, I have to ask, in Sweden, did you know about the Olsens growing up?

02:08Did any of their movies or TV series make it over there?

02:12Yes.

02:14Didn't everyone?

02:16Elizabeth, we know that you're an author of multiple books.

02:19Were you reading anything fun while filming The Assessment?

02:22Not really.

02:23I mean, I wrote a children's book with my husband, who's a far better writer than I

02:26am.

02:27I'm basically his editor.

02:28I was reading, um, Michelle Welbeck's The Impossibility of an Island on this job.

02:33I felt like that was, I, I think his philosophy and the places he goes to were just, I don't

02:43know, in his own little sci-fi book.

02:47I found it to be, it opened up kind of a whole, like a little, a little avenue for me to explore

02:53and think about.
