00:01Lowriders or classic cars are definitely my favorite.
00:04The reason I thought it worked perfect with the Avion piece was because I love the lowrider culture,
00:11like how it's family, it's tradition, and I feel like that's very similar with Avion and just the tequila-making
00:17process.
00:18It's very traditional. It has roots, and I thought it would be a perfect way to combine, I guess, my
00:26aesthetic or my style with Avion.
00:29You know, Mexico and Los Angeles are very different places, but I was trying to find ways to, I guess,
00:35combine the two.
00:36The cars themselves, I tried to use, like, I guess, earth tones and colors that you would find out in
00:43the agave fields.
00:45And then as for the sunsets, I'm sure, you know, if you've been out in the agave fields, beautiful skies,
00:51beautiful sunsets.
00:52So, again, a combination. There's a few other things. In Venice, we have these sewer plates.
01:00And it sounds weird, but they all say, City of Los Angeles, made in Mexico.
01:06So I used to love those, and I added in there, and, of course, it's another way of showing, you
01:12know, the tequila is made in Mexico.
01:13But City of LA, kind of like myself, both my parents are from Mexico, but I'm City of LA.
01:18So, again, just little things like that, I thought was a cool way to tie both, you know, Mexico and
01:25Los Angeles together.
01:26When I paint in different communities, I want to include things that they would understand and just, you know, they
01:33can embrace.
01:35And, you know, for random people, they might not notice those things, but for the people that understand, they'll be
01:40like, wow, that's so dumb.
01:41And that's kind of what I want to do, is just spark that, like, oh, cool.
01:46I would say 99% of the people that I paint, it's because I actually enjoy their, they've inspired me
01:53in some way.
01:54You know, Kobe, not only through basketball, but his interviews and talking about the model mentality.
01:59Because, you know, my whole life, people have been like, you work too much.
02:02You try, or, like, you do too much.
02:04And, like, you need a rest and this and that.
02:05And, like, I felt like I related to Kobe because he was just like, no, you have to put in
02:11the work.
02:11If you want to get ahead, like, you have to put in that work.
02:14So, yeah, everybody that I paint, I have some type of connection or they inspired me in some way.
02:22Being able to actually create pieces in a gallery space, my mind immediately went to, like, oh, if I can
02:30make it to, like, LACMA or a museum, like, that now is my ultimate goal, I guess.
02:38I'm always going to continue to do murals just because that's where my heart lies.
02:44But I think, for now, my goal is set on trying to make it to a museum.
