00:04My recollection is, yeah, we didn't have far to go.
00:07We were walking down the aisle.
00:09There was no aisle.
00:10Well, no, it's got a piece of carpet.
00:12It was three feet.
00:13Yeah.
00:14That's all we had.
00:14And you told me those three things.
00:16A, how old you really was.
00:17I really was.
00:18Yes.
00:19B, that I'd been married twice before.
00:21Yeah.
00:22And C, that I was mentally ill.
00:24Which one was the head basher?
00:26Well, all three.
00:27It was sort of like a concussive blow.
00:28So it's like you can imagine that a grenade went off and then it had sub-explosions.
00:34I do.
00:34Then I started laughing because I realized.
00:36Then you laughed.
00:37We laughed.
00:37And I got confused and I signed the register of best wishes Ruby West.
00:41Yes, that's right, you did.
00:42I got confused.
00:43And then we never mentioned it again.
00:45No, not really.
00:46Did it ever scare you that I said that?
00:48It wasn't a huge surprise.
00:50But it sort of does things like click.
00:53Oh, okay, yeah, that kind of might explain this or that.
00:56See, I just keep thinking about the day, this is when I knew you were the best news
01:00ever, is when I was in the hospital and I had to interview somebody who was mentally
01:05ill for a website and we were filming here.
01:09And everybody in the institution said, are you insane?
01:11And I put lipstick on and they all cheered me as I left.
01:15And then I came here and interviewed a person with depression.
01:18And I could see the person with depression looking at me and thinking, you are way sicker
01:22than I am.
01:23I then drove you back to the institution.
01:26And then everybody clapped and said, that was nuts.
01:28Whenever you got depression, you could see there was a sort of panic because of the confusion
01:34about what's happening in your head.
01:35If you're close to somebody with depression, you've got to help them make the first move
01:39to understand that they're sick.
01:41In your case, it's to be amongst people who suffer the same thing so they can compare notes
01:48and talk to each other and support each other.
01:51I've seen you talk to other people who have depression and it's kind of like a unique club.
01:56I'm only relieved, really, when I'm with other people that have mental illness.
02:02If I see the eyes of another, we have this understanding and that's the healing.
