00:23The men forced the victim into his home, restrained him with a charging cable and a shirt, and proceeded to
00:30the bedroom area where they ransacked the room and relieved the victim of a cellular phone and a quantity of
00:35jewelry.
00:36They then made good their escape in a white Toyota Aqua.
00:39While police were investigating that robbery, they were alerted to another home invasion at Mendes Village.
00:44Upon arrival at the second scene, officers met with a victim who reported that at approximately 3.30pm on August
00:518, he was sitting in the living room with his mother when three masked men, one of whom appeared to
00:56be armed, entered the house through the front door, retained them and ransacked the bedroom area, and took a Scotiabank
01:03card, a box of jewelry and electronic equipment.
01:06The men escaped in an awaiting Toyota Aqua bearing the same registration number as the vehicle involved in the previous
01:12incident.
01:12The Aqua was later seen traveling together with the black Nissan Kicks, and an alert was circulated by the Southwestern
01:18Division Operations Center.
01:20Moments later, a Highway Patrol unit intercepted the black Nissan Kicks in the vicinity of the Gasparilla Overpass.
01:26The vehicle was searched, and officers recovered cellular phones and jewelry belonging to the victims.
01:32A 23-year-old Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force member was arrested.
01:36Further inquiries led to the arrest of four other suspects, a 38-year-old man of Latus Road, Penal, an
01:4218-year-old man of Smart Avenue, Penal, another 18-year-old of Doogie Street, Penal, and a 21-year
01:49-old of Concession Drive, Silots, Port of Spain.
