00:00It was very surreal, an absolute honour to receive the King's award from the King himself.
00:07He asked all about what we do, about Highland Island blood bites, about moving urgent blood samples and medication,
00:14and he felt that this was an absolutely phenomenal service that we offered over such a huge area
00:19and he couldn't believe that it was all volunteers that did it.
00:22That is really the icing on the cake.
00:27It shows the recognition that I think all the volunteers deserve,
00:30because so many of them work tirelessly.
00:32Do you have dedication all hours, taking time out of your life in the same way that the Men in
00:37Rescue does?
00:38Yeah, pretty much.
00:40We operate seven days a week all year round, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
00:44We've always got volunteers available.
00:46So to get that recognition of the time that they put in,
00:50and a lot of people work full time as well,
00:51so they'll give up their spare time for it, their weekends off,
00:55and a lot of sacrifices that the volunteers give to help patient care.
00:59It makes it worth it though.
01:01Oh, absolutely.
01:02That just, yeah, it's difficult to put into words what it means for everybody.
01:09Thank you, really, actually.
01:10Thank you, everyone.
