In the heart of the Cairngorms, a massive wildfire rages. First Minister John Swinney stands with our brave Scottish Fire and Rescue Services, witnessing firsthand the devastating impact.

Swinney met with tactical advisors and dedicated crews from Balleter and Canusee to understand the scale of this immense challenge. The wildfire has consumed approximately 10 square kilometers of precious land in the Glenmore and Abernethy regions.

While firefighters are making remarkable progress against this widespread blaze, significant hotspots persist across the vast and complex terrain. Their dedication is crucial in protecting this vital landscape.
