00:00Stephen Flynn, Transport Secretary. Thank you for your time. First of all, there's a big announcement today about flights and
00:05support from the Scottish Government to Shetland, well from Inverness to Shetland and the Isles. What more can you tell
00:09us about that? What was the motivation for Femme Union this week?
00:11Yeah, absolutely brilliant news. Obviously everyone's aware of the discussions that have been going on between High Isle and Loganair
00:17with regards to the reduction that we've seen in services from Inverness to Stornoway and to Orkney and to Shetland.
00:22And what's happened is they've concluded their discussions. High Isle came to us and said there's a gap, a gap
00:28of just in excess of a million pounds. Can you support us? And we were delighted to do so.
00:32So I'm really pleased to have just came from the airport where we made that announcement that that million pounds
00:37from the Scottish Government is going to be there to make sure that those flights are back running from Inverness
00:42to the islands.
00:43I understand just how important that is, not just to folk on the mainland, but more importantly to the folk
00:48on the islands who've got health care appointments, who've got businesses to run, who've got families to visit.
00:54And giving them that certainty that there's going to be flights for them was something that I wanted to do
00:58and I'm so pleased we've got to that point.
