DOLE, employers, labor groups seek lifting of TRO on P85 wage hike

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), employers and labor groups agree to jointly call for the lifting of the temporary restraining order (TRO) on the P85 daily wage increase in the National Capital Region (NCR). In an ambush interview on Aug. 7, 2026, Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino said the agreement was reached during a meeting of the National Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (NTIPC), which was attended by representatives from the government, employers and labor groups. Tolentino said that the council also approved a resolution calling on the National Electrification Administration (NEA) to address issues raised before the tripartite body. He said that the meeting with the employers, labor groups and DOLE agreed to jointly ask the court to lift the TRO issued by Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 152 on the wage order.
