Gov open to dialogue with CPP-NPA

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) says that the government remains open to dialogue with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and other rebel groups. Speaking at a press conference in Pasig City on July 31, 2026, Presidential Peace Adviser Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento told The Manila Times that peace talks were open as long as there was mutual agreement on the agenda and that there were no hidden agendas during the negotiations. 00:20As long as yung kahit sinong grupong yan, talagang parehas ang intensyon ng gobyerno.

00:29Kasi ang intensyon ng gobyerno, no question, puro kung kapayapaan ang gusto ng mga kami.

00:39Dahil yung balance sheet ng Pilipinas, palaging naapektuhan ng pangkatuluhan.

00:44Perang dapat napupunta sa edukasyon.
