A Sea Snake is a highly specialized marine reptile perfectly adapted to life in the ocean. Found mainly in the warm tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, sea snakes have streamlined bodies and flattened, paddle-like tails that allow them to swim gracefully through coral reefs and coastal waters.

Most sea snakes spend nearly their entire lives at sea, surfacing only to breathe air. They primarily hunt fish and eels, using their excellent underwater senses to locate prey among reefs and rocky crevices. Although many species possess potent venom, sea snakes are generally shy and usually avoid humans.

Some sea snakes can absorb part of the oxygen they need directly through their skin, helping them remain underwater for extended periods. Their extraordinary marine adaptations make them some of the most fascinating reptiles in the ocean. 🐍🌊✨
