00:05we can provide medications we can do assessments of chronic diseases new
00:10diseases mental health conditions we can provide medications we can perform blood
00:16tests and we can do some minor procedures as well so if we had like a
00:20wound infection or an abscess if it's relatively minor or if the patient
00:26particularly doesn't want to go to emergency or doesn't have Medicare
00:29access then we can look at doing those procedures in the van and anything a
00:34little bit more major because we are in a van we would have to refer onwards I
00:38think the van itself is important in Canberra because we don't have a lot of
00:43access to bulk billing people think of Canberra as a very affluent place but
00:49there is quite a lot of deprivation there's quite a lot of people
00:55experiencing poverty and unsecure housing and those people find it very difficult
01:02to access medical care so I think particularly for Canberra this is a
01:06really important service and most of what I've done so far I've done a lot of
01:12just chatting and listening to people and giving people a little bit of time and
01:16space to be heard in practices where they're trying to make money from bulk
01:23billing you have to see so many patients to make it work whereas because we're in
01:29not-for-profit we can take our time with those patients and give them that little
01:32bit of extra space to chat which I think has proven so far to be really valuable
