A Black Mamba is one of the fastest and most feared snakes in the world, native to the savannas, woodlands, and rocky hills of sub-Saharan Africa. Despite its name, the black mamba is usually gray to olive-brown in color. Its name comes from the inky-black interior of its mouth, which it displays as a warning when threatened.
