00:00He's hitting a different level, and I think if you look at his numbers,
00:05he looks like he's going to wind up with a 10 war,
00:10if you just watch the way this thing is growing.
00:13So he's become the favorite for the MVP.
00:17Shohei doesn't look like he's going to be pitching anytime soon,
00:21and PCA, you know, Shohei's dealing with some injuries and the knee, etc.,
00:27but PCA looks like he's getting on another tear.
00:32I thought it was so impressive that he didn't play in the field,
00:36and yet he adopted all of the routines that he saw from other guys
00:44when they were DH-ing while he took his turn to get off his –
00:50is that the idea, to let him not run around for a night, something like that?

00:57It seemed like he was on his legs the whole game,
00:59and it seems like he was running crazy.

01:11I thought that everything he said about this has been fantastic.
01:17The other thing, and maybe I'm the only one hearing it,
01:21does he still dislike L.A. because he grew up with that team?
01:25Does he still kind of want to beat the Dodgers and see the Dodgers again?
01:30Is there an undercurrent of him kind of talking about them a little bit?
01:36And didn't he say some nasty stuff when he was in L.A.?

01:48Well, you know, I was a little bit scratching my head
01:51when I saw that PCA was giving the day off at home.
01:54They are in the midst of a 17-games and 17-day stretch.
01:59But this is a home game.
02:01It's not even the make-up game.
02:02And it is against a National League team,
02:04and it is against the Dodgers, who is a team that, you know,
02:08maybe you're hoping you don't face in the playoffs.
02:10Somebody else will take care of them, and you won't have to face them.
02:12So it all ended up working out, so we can put that opinion off to the side.
02:17I do think part of the reason that PCA is now either a betting favorite
02:23at some places to win the MVP or that he is inching closer
02:28is because of the fact that this was done head-to-head.
02:33More eyes are on this game when they're playing again.
02:37And the fact that they went back-to-back as leadoff hitters,
02:40I mean, that's amazing.
02:42I think there was a stat also about lefty leadoff hitters.

02:46Right, like the first time in forever that two lefty leadoff hitters
02:50let off games for their teams with home runs.
02:53So, listen, good for PCA.
02:55We have seen him.
02:57We have seen him go very high.
02:59We have seen him go very low.
03:01The biggest thing is, I mean, is over the weekend, you know, the walks.
03:05All of a sudden, the guy, he's walking more than ever.
03:10And he's doing this in the leadoff spot.
03:12David, I know you called for that quite a while ago,
03:14wanting to get him in that leadoff spot.
03:16And he is now settled in there very nicely.
03:19But I'm glad he's more focused on the team goals than the personal goals.
03:25Yeah, this was the day.
03:26I think this was the day that Pete Corr Armstrong became the frontrunner for the MVP.
03:34And for a lot of the reasons that we discussed, it was on the same day that Shohei Ohtani homered
03:40twice.
03:41He not only matched him, but he exceeded him.
03:44He added a double for good measure.
03:46His team won head-to-head to finish off a sweep, which was emphatic for the Cubs.
03:53They have not lost since the trade deadline.
03:55Again, Pete Corr Armstrong capped off a series that he dominated with stolen bases and timely base hits
04:03and then making everything look easy in the outfield, as he tends to do.
04:07Yesterday, he got off his feet, and then he stayed on by running the bases.
04:12And so, I like the way that they tried to get him some rest, quasi-rest.
04:20But when all is said and done, and Pete Corr Armstrong's hovering around 10 with his war at the end
04:27of the year,
04:27and people are looking at their ballots and they're figuring out which box to check and everything,
04:34I think they'll say, well, this is pretty close.
04:37The numbers look pretty even.
04:39I don't know how to measure Shohei Ohtani's pitching against Pete Corr Armstrong's defense,
04:45and if they cancel each other out, let's look at them head-to-head offensively.
04:49Oh, and on that day at Wrigley Field, PCA was MVP'd, and that will make the difference.
