00:20Here from China, a report that the Chinese government has sent a third specialized medical mission to the Democratic Republic
00:30of the Congo to strengthen the response against the Ebola,
00:34as the World Health Organization confirmed that the current outbreak is the largest ever recorded in the country.
00:43The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Li Jian, said that Beijing will continue assisting African nations and providing support to help
00:54control the disease.
00:56The third Chinese medical mission arrived in the capital of Congo on August 1st.
01:03The team is composed of specialists in epidemiology, health quarantine, clinical treatment and laboratory diagnosis.
01:14This delegation continues the work of two previous teams sent by China since the outbreak was officially declared in May.
01:24According to the World Health Organization, the current outbreak has surpassed the 2018 and 2020 epidemic and has become the
01:37largest ever recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
01:42By July 30, the country had reported more than 3,600 confirmed Ebola cases and nearly 1,600 deaths with
01:54a fatality rate of 44%.
01:57China said it will continue working with Africa to strengthen the response to public health emergencies.
