00:00I heard it in the update, and I did connect the dots.
00:03Maybe worth a mention here.
00:05So the Wings are using the search firm to fill the Steve Iserman job.
00:08But in the interim, Sean Horkoff is running the day-to-day.
00:13But no trades.
00:14But no trades.
00:15But that's different than the press release where they said Iserman was going to be the day-to-day guy.
00:20Until he was replaced.
00:21Right.
00:22So is this...
00:23Well, he's been replaced.
00:24Steve going, hey, man.
00:26Well, it could be that, or it could just be on a sabbatical, too.
00:28Summer vacay?
00:30Yeah.
00:30Get away.
00:32What operations are there?
00:34Right.
00:35Someone come in and make sure the printer's still working.
00:39Need more toner!
00:41Calling McClellan every day saying, well, you're the coach for now.
00:45Oh, God.
00:46I mean, seriously, that's part of the equation here.
00:47Yeah.
00:48There's not...
00:49Well, are they going to have...
00:50They have to have someone in place by training camp, you would think.
00:53Of course.
00:54Yeah, because you've got to do something with Dylan Larkin.
00:58Oh, yeah.
00:59Oh, yeah.
01:00Oh, that, too.
01:01Dylan who?
01:02Yeah.
01:02So if he's not going to make any trades, he's obviously not fielding any phone calls.
01:06I mean, he's not going to sit there and say, you know, to whoever does inherit the job,
01:10well, here's my notes, and here's the teams that have called.
01:13Pick your best offer.
01:15They also have to settle Edvinson.
01:17He will be on the team next year, but they have to figure that out, too.
01:20I mean, what happens?
01:21Can't somebody offer sheet him, technically?
01:23Yes.
01:23What would happen if somebody did that?
01:25I think most of the money is spent.
01:26But, yeah, then they'd be put on a spot where an interim has to navigate it.
01:29They'd probably just match and figure it out later.
01:33This is insane.
01:34How do you not have a GM in August for a hockey team?
01:38And guess what?
01:38The potential GM, they have to talk to Larkin before they take the job, or they have to have
01:47an opinion on, I want to keep this guy.
01:50I want to mend this fence.
01:52So I don't remember the date.
01:54I know that we were out at the corner ballpark.
01:57Is it two weeks?
01:59Three weeks from today.
02:00It was three weeks from today.
02:01Okay.
02:01And yesterday was two months since Larkin demanded a trade.
02:05This team, the franchise is in limbo.
02:08Big time.
02:10Remember Inception when they had the limbo part?
02:13It's dream within a dream.
02:14Yeah.
02:15Except this is a nightmare within a nightmare.
02:17Right.
02:18Hey, you're the paying customer.
02:20I was going to tell you.
02:20I'll tell you what's not out of sync is making sure that they get the payments every month.
02:25That auto deduct is still being taken?
02:27That is not on an interim figuring out basis.
02:30That's still going to collect.
02:32Anyway, he sent him an email.
02:33You know what?
02:33I renewed my tickets like in what?
02:37When?
02:37March?
02:37February?
02:38Before March.
02:38Yeah.
02:39I think it might have been February.
02:40They started asking in January.
02:41Do I have a right to be curious why we don't have a GM in August?
02:45Stoney's play was tell them I want to put it on deferment.
02:49Like I want to pay for this season, but claim it in a future season.
02:54I don't want the tickets until I want to do the Dodger plan.
02:57Right.
02:58All the jokes aside here, they did the right thing three weeks ago.
03:01Yes, they did.
03:02And they just need to make a decision.
03:03Move this along.
03:05College football right around the corner.
03:06We got a coach's poll.
03:07Michigan 16th.
03:08You got a bunch of Big Ten teams.
03:09You had a note, though, that stuck out.
03:11Yeah.
03:11And here's what's interesting is Ohio State and Oregon are one and two.
03:15And I think in most polls, whenever they do come out, you'll probably see Ohio State
03:19right there at the top.
03:21What is interesting?
03:22There's a couple things that are interesting.
03:23There are six teams that received first place votes.
03:27You've got Ohio State one, Oregon two, Georgia three, Texas, Notre Dame, and Indiana rounding
03:33out the top six.
03:34That's reigning champ Indiana.
03:35Yeah.
03:36And I'll bring up Indiana in just a moment.
03:38But this is a deeper pool of voters putting first place votes on a total of six teams.
03:46Normally, and if you go back 10 years, right, it was Alabama gets 40 votes and Clemson gets
03:52eight.
03:53And then maybe Ohio State got one.
03:55There was always that kind of one vote for somebody.
03:59Now you're having six teams.
04:01And I think this is going to be a trend because we don't know what to make because of the
04:04transfer
04:05portal.
04:05What does it mean when you have Josh Hoover as your quarterback coming in and he's coming
04:11from TCU all of a sudden?
04:13Hey, well, we've seen Indiana do it the last couple of years.
04:15Can they do it a third time?
04:17We don't know.
04:18And so there are more teams that people believe have a shot at the national title.
04:23Now they may only be the big dogs.
04:25And I guess we're throwing Indiana in that now since they've won a national title.
04:29They're a big dog.
04:31But then there are, you know, any outliers, but now there are more teams that people believe
04:37are in contention.
04:38Is that not a good thing?
04:39It is a good thing.
04:39And it's a good note.
04:40I hadn't realized that six teams, the first place votes.
04:42It's, it's a record.
04:44And I would make the case that while Ohio State has the most first place votes, they shouldn't
04:47be the favorite.
04:48On paper.
04:48I think Oregon actually has the better roster.
04:50Well, I agree when we talked about, you know, Hey, the, the, the Cleveland.com poll that
04:54came out, it was, you know, they had Ohio state as, as one.
04:57And I think Oregon is the best team in the big 10.
04:59There's obviously questions about can Oregon actually finish the job, but on paper, I think
05:03their roster is the best in the country.
05:05I want to be very careful though, that I don't Clemson them.
05:07So we'll, we'll just kind of scoot back a little bit here.
05:11That's that been two years now.
05:12Or is that last year?
05:13That was last year.
05:13Now we're in Vegas at the end of the month.
05:15I think we'll revisit and make some predictions.
05:17So my, my, the last one though, is the last point I want to make on this before
05:20we get to news, Indiana comes in at six.
05:23They have the second most first place votes.
05:26Wow.
05:27Yeah.
05:27And with 14 and then you look at Oregon, they only got six first place votes yet.
05:31They ended up at two.
05:32What that means is there is a great unknown.
05:35There are a lot of people that might've had Indiana as low as, I don't know, 15, 16
05:39to lower them that far because they got 14.
05:42They got twice as many first place votes as both Oregon and Georgia who are two and three
05:48respectively.
05:49Now you did the can counting on this.
05:50There's eight big 10, nine sec.
05:52Yeah.
05:52So 17 of the top 25 are, are from the, the, the, the big two.
05:56I did get a kick out of Alabama's 11th.
05:58There are five sec teams ahead of them.
06:01If the board finishes sixth in the sec, whoo, going to be a for sale sign out front.
06:07Oh yeah.
06:08Yeah.
06:08Or worse, they'll burn his house down.
06:10It's poison all his trees.
06:14They've done it before, right?
06:15Yes, they have.
06:16Let's go to Heather with the news.
