00:19making past results unsuitable as the sole basis for deciding seat distribution

00:23or the form of cooperation in Kedah.

00:26Shaiful was commenting on whether the BN-PN cooperation seen in Johor and Negeri Sembilan

00:31could be extended to Kedah.

00:32Political analyst Mazlan Ali had identified past strongholds such as Kedah

00:37as the biggest test of BN-PN ties,

00:39particularly because BN does not hold any parliamentary or state seats there.

00:44In the 2023 Kedah election, BN contested in cooperation with Pakatan Harapan

00:49but failed to win any seats,

00:51while PN won 33 of the 36 state seats and PH secured the remaining three.

00:57Shaiful said Kedah UMNO was taking a wait-and-see approach

01:01as no talks had been held and no instructions had come from the party leadership.

01:06However, he added that Kedah UMNO was prepared to cooperate

01:09under any framework decided by the party leadership.
