00:00Trailing your handful of days into camp at this point, back on the field.
00:04I know you missed the one day with the foot.
00:05How are you feeling and how do you think camp's gone so far?
00:07I've been feeling great, man, good for the opportunities.
00:11Just keep getting better and better each day and just bless.
00:15Was the day off with the foot, was that more precautionary or
00:18did you have any concerns there?
00:19No, nobody had concerns.
00:22You just gotta take care of your players and that's what DQ did.
00:26And come back out here and keep grinding.
00:29You've had a fantastic camp.
00:31You're open a lot, you're making a lot of catches.
00:33Do you feel like healthy in this offense, playing with a guy like Daniels?
00:37This is your best opportunity maybe to really break out?
00:41I hear all the breakout, this and that.
00:43I don't care about a breakout, man.
00:45I'm just here to help everybody get better and play my role.
00:48And that's what I'm gonna do.
00:49I'm gonna make the plays when the plays come to me.
00:51And gotta take care of the rest.
00:53What do you think when you talk about a role,
00:55carving out a niche or a role that's maybe different to you in this group?
00:59What do you think that role looks like?
01:00Can you explain that a little more for me?
01:02Yeah, you said you want to play your role.
01:04What's your role in this wide receiver role?
01:06Being where I'm supposed to be, making the plays when the ball comes my way, and also
01:11helping the guys that are out there on the field.
01:14Just, you know, it's just like any other job.
01:17You play your role by helping conduct.
01:19You know, he's holding the camera, all of that.
01:21So just being where I'm supposed to be, making plays, and just being who I am.
01:25How do you feel you fit into the Blau offense, and what kind of things does it do?
01:31Everyone says it's receiver friendly.
01:32What does that mean to you?
01:35Honestly, everybody's got a chance to make plays.
01:37And as long as you're where you're supposed to be, like I said, you know, the ball will
01:41find you, Jaden will find you, and God will take care of the rest of that.
01:45You've mentioned hearing everyone talking about breakout this, breakout that.
01:49When you see this group at work here, there's a lot of noise about bringing receivers in.
01:53How do you feel like you guys have kind of reacted on the field and performed?
01:56We don't listen to it.
01:57We come out here every day.
01:59We, you know, the guys that are in the room with us, we love each other.
02:04You know, if they were to bring somebody in so big, we love them too.
02:07You know, that's just who we are.
02:08But, you know, we take care of what we can control and make the plays when we can.
02:14And, you know, everything else to take care of.
02:16So.
02:17Appreciate the time.
02:17Yeah, appreciate you.
02:18Joined by Caleb on chase on in his first camp here with the Commanders.
02:21You guys are a little under a weekend at this point.
02:24How are things going so far?
02:26Things going well.
02:27Man, the team is getting better day by day.
02:30Stacking bricks, man, laying the foundation, man, so a great year for sure.
02:33You had such an excellent year last year.
02:35Free agent opted to come here to Washington.
02:37And what drew you to this organization and why did you feel like you could continue your trajectory in D
02:42.C.?
02:42Man, I think we kind of share the same same trajectory.
02:46Man, I want to continue to grow.
02:49Obviously, greatness is the only standard that we hold ourselves to.
02:52So I wanted to be a part of it, man.
02:54I saw the hunger, saw the attention to detail that we put into the offseason, whether that was in the
03:00spring, but even before that was signing.
03:02But just in the recruitment staff, man, just talking to getting the chance out of the DQ, been a fan
03:07of them from the outside in for quite a while.
03:08So, man, definitely want to be a part of it for sure.
03:11Watching the way you guys operated in New England in the last year, there was a lot of similar things
03:15to what Durante does, I feel like, in the playoffs.
03:17With the stacked fronts, six and seven men standing up, not knowing who's coming and going.
03:21What does this defense do for an athletic guy on the edge like yourself and just presenting opportunities occasionally to
03:27come free, but also just get downhill?
03:30They do a lot of things, man.
03:31You get a chance to watch the front and the system that he came from last year in Minnesota.
03:36You get to see the players within the roles that you'll be playing within defense and see how they made
03:40plays and how they took the chances in it.
03:42Knowing the details and knowing everything that was within the system.
03:45So, it's cool to be a part of it for sure.
03:47How would you describe Durante's coaching style?
03:50I'm sure you get him in the classroom during the offseason, you get a feel for him, but then you
03:53get out here, it's a different thing.
03:55What's that been like?
03:56Man, he's never satisfied.
03:57In a good way.
03:59Not to say, you know, it's hard to please him, but man, even within the good, we're going to continue
04:04to try to perfect everything and know that there's always ways to get better for sure.
04:09I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I was saying on the radio yesterday, you were practicing
04:13like it was like September 20th.
04:14You had two like pretty violent collisions, day one of the pads, one with Bill and then another one with
04:19Chig.
04:20I mean, are you one of those guys that as soon as the pads come on, it's like the lights
04:24are on and you're just ready to go thump people?
04:26Did you want to kind of send that message or is that just how the practice played out?
04:30I think physicality is what this team embodies and embraces from jump.
04:34So grateful to get a chance to put that on display, but also, man, I want to be a leader
04:39and set the standard for sure.
04:40So when I get a chance to put the pads on, that's what I want to do.
04:44Lastly, away from the field, what makes you tick?
04:46What are the things you care about or what do you do for fun?
04:49My family, man, so I always want to be a part, be with my family and be with my daughter.
04:53You just have one daughter?
04:55Yep.
04:55How old is she?
04:56Just two.
04:57Okay, you're going to be seeing Moana in the movie theater like I just did here not too long.
05:01Yeah, yeah, yeah, most definitely.
05:02Appreciate you.
05:02Appreciate you.
