01:05I just think what I love about this season is the schedule.

01:22You earned it, man, because this is a difficult schedule.
01:25I can't wait to see Drake May get better from his runner-up MVP season, which he will.
01:32I'm curious to see just the steps he takes.
01:37A lot of the stuff that I'm reading and what I've seen is that they're really working on different tempos,
01:43which is like now it's going to be showing off.
01:45I mean, Drake May with Josh McDaniels, oh, my God, you guys, with the talent he has,
01:50will be able to do things – and this is going to sound insane – that Tom Brady only dreamed
01:55of doing.

01:58This is because he can move out of the pocket.
02:00You can get moving pockets, boots, play action.
02:03He's going to be such a weapon for him.
02:04If he can get just the brain of a Tom Brady, which took, you know, 23 years to get that,
02:12but, you know, the fact that they hardly had audibles last year, the fact that they didn't motion much,
02:17the fact that Drake didn't read defenses as well last year, and now he's way better at that,
02:24that is such an – the fact that Drake May, more times than not, will be able to know where
02:30he wants to go
02:30with the football before the snap, like Tom did for the last 15, 20 years of his career,
02:37where it's gave him such a huge advantage, is going to be a massive, massive advantage
02:40for such an athletic, skillful quarterback that Drake May is.

02:53What year was it that the Patriots went to that no-huddle offense and just destroyed teams?

03:05They averaged almost 10 more plays a game than the average, I believe.
03:12And I see, to me, that's – it's hard to defend Drake May if there's no motion
03:19and they used the entire play clock before they snapped the ball and they run basic formations.
03:26He's still – but the fact that they can maybe run a play with still 10, 15 seconds left on
03:32the play clock
03:33and then they do like a muddle huddle.
03:35They don't even like huddle up and the defense can't sub people in and they got to keep the nickel
03:39out
03:39and they're all of a sudden – he's checking in to runs and it's like, holy crap.
03:44Like, it is going to be, I think, really fun to watch this offense
03:49because it's just the advancement from a mental standpoint that Drake's going to have
03:52and the comfortability he's going to have with Josh McDaniel's offense.
03:54And Josh is going to slowly feed him new stuff.
03:57And so, it is just – forget it, man.

04:06And talking about the offense, no less.

04:09But, Ted, isn't that ballsy in a quarterback's third year to try to, like, go no huddle
04:14because all we're hearing is about this up-tempo thing that they've been working on
04:17and that they're trying to get to a point where it's a much faster offense.
04:21That's – it's either ballsy or it just shows the extreme confidence they have
04:26that Drake May can pull this off because that is – and not just Drake May,
04:30the entire offense that they think that this team has the mental capacity to be able to –
04:35because that's got to be extremely tough.
04:37It is.
04:38It is.
04:38Just to memorize everything.
04:40And on top of that, it's physically exhausting.
04:43But if you can pull it off, my God, there's really nothing like it.
04:47And if you're on the other side, Ted, as a defender, how tough does that make your job?
04:52It's almost impossible, really.
04:54I mean, it's – hold on to your ass because it's going to limit what defenses can do.
04:59They can't disguise, they can't, you know, blitz because they've got to keep, you know,
05:05basically vanilla just to get through the series because the Patriots all of a sudden
05:10are, like, going fast, up-paced tempo on you, which you weren't expecting, right?
05:14And so you have the personnel grouping out that they want,
05:17not the personnel grouping that you want.
05:20And so they're going to dictate terms more than they, you know, ever have.
05:25I don't know.
05:26I do have to calm down.
05:27It is a little bit much.
05:29It would be cool if they trot all this out against the Seahawks in the opener
05:32and just go totally different team than what they saw in the Super Bowl last year.
05:36Which was what I was saying, slow.
05:38You know, they used the play clock.
05:39They read – they kind of would, you know, they wouldn't snap the ball until, you know,
05:44at the end of the play clock because they wanted to see, you know,
05:47every bit of information they could on the defense before they snapped the ball.
05:51Now, you know, no, the defense is going to have to react to what the offense is doing.
05:55So it'll be – it's going to be a lot of fun.
05:59Well, Mike Vrabel talked a little bit about injury of A.J. Brown's.
06:03And you know what?
06:04I've got to be honest.
06:05The more I hear Mike Vrabel talk, the more he sounds like the old Mike Vrabel.
06:09We don't know whether that's going to change sometime before the season.
06:11Don't tell that to Aaron Rodgers.
06:12He's very upset about what happened.

06:19But I want to play this Vrabel stuff because it is interesting just how it seems like they got everything

06:26And there is a storyline that I should not be interested in, like as interested in, that's going on at
06:31Patriots camp,
06:32that for some reason it's the thing that I check on every day.
06:36Like it's the one storyline that has nothing to do with A.J. Brown or it's not a Drake May
06:42thing.
06:42It is one storyline that's going on that I'm fascinated by, and we will get to that and what Mike
06:49Vrabel said.
