00:04providing RM300,000 worth of home renovations to a former statutory body executive in exchange
00:10for projects from the organization.
00:12A source said the arrest followed investigation stemming from the Royal Commission of Inquiry
00:17report on Tabong Haji, which was declassified last week.
00:20The suspect, who is in his 50s, was arrested at the MACC headquarters yesterday evening
00:26after giving his statement and will be remanded until tomorrow.
00:29Preliminary investigations found the alleged offenses took place between 2014 and 2018.
00:35The suspect is believed to have paid bribes by funding renovations for four homes belonging
00:40to the former COO.
00:42MACC Chief Commissioner Abdul Halim Aman confirmed the arrest when contacted.
00:47Separately, the MACC arrested a former plantation manager of a rubber seating supplier over the
00:53alleged misappropriation of RM8 million in contracts awarded by a statutory body.
00:58The source said the arrest was also linked to the Tabong Haji report.
01:01The suspect, in his 50s, has been remanded until Thursday over alleged offenses committed
01:06between 2015 and 2017.
