00:28blur and we are so lucky to play to these people. You just crushed your first time at
00:33Lollapalooza. Was it everything you were expecting? It was. It was, uh, and more I would say. I'd
00:40say Ashton's so right. It was, uh, sorry Ashton's my mic colder. I love it. I mean, playing in
00:47Chicago is amazing but playing Lollapalooza has been a dream of ours since we were kids. Um, so,
00:52I mean, the crowd was electric. Yes, it was, right? They were, I mean, they were just
00:58having a blast. It was amazing. We tried to give them like the old stuff we used to play that

01:03love and we tried to play our new stuff and we tried to give them our concept of our life
01:07essentially throughout the show. We do like the bits and the videos and all that kind of stuff.
01:12If you notice that, I'm not sure. Yes, I did. So, speaking of the bits, you guys had this bit
01:18where you were winning the, uh, like best boy band award, which I loved. Boy band of the year.
01:23Right. I love how you guys, back in the day, you weren't so fond of being called a boy band.
01:29We always embraced being called a boy band.
01:32No, you did not. You're lying. I know you did.

01:37We loved it.
01:38Now you have fun with it, right? We do.
01:40Yeah. We embrace it.
01:42You know, we're just a lot of people's favorite boy band and it feels incredible. You know,
01:46it's like, it's for us, you are a band. Yeah. For us, it was interesting.
01:49And your boys meant.
01:50For us, it was interesting as we got older, we started to miss being called a boy band.
01:56And you know, when people started, you know, stopped calling us a boy band, we were like,
02:01okay, we need, you know, we need to remind people that, you know, we were the, you know,
02:05we're the best boy band ever. Um, and then now that we're calling ourselves a boy band,
02:08everyone's like, you guys aren't a boy band. We're like, man, you know, so anyway, it doesn't,
02:13it doesn't matter. And what's fun is just playing with perception now and where we're at in terms of
02:18like, I don't know, just being, being people is like, people don't really care to label things
02:25as much anymore as they used to, which is just nice to be able to like,
02:28be a little more free with it. Just be yourselves and now you can have fun with it.
02:31Yeah. We love making fun of ourselves.
02:34It's fun. It's just fun. Right. Of course. You can't take yourselves too seriously. I mean,
02:38you guys did, you know, tour with One Direction back in the day. Is there any other boy bands that
02:43you guys are fans of? There's no other boy bands for me. Uh, yeah, no, Michael's right.

03:00Exactly. Yeah. Right, right. Do you guys still get nervous before getting on stage or are you guys
03:05just like, uh? I was a little nervous today. I definitely did today. Yeah, definitely.
03:09We were doing like this crazy thing where we had like these separate platforms that
03:12rose up into the sky. Right, you guys rose up. So we're a little nervous for that because we've
03:16never done that before ever. You can't really jump or move around much because you might break something.
03:22They were very wobbly. And at one point they weren't moving up and I was very scared they
03:26were not going to move up. Me too. I was like, man, but then they did. We did all this
03:29planning
03:29for weeks and these things aren't even going to go up. Yeah. And I was like, Callum actually
03:35prepared some questions as well. Yeah. Okay. Uh, so I know your album's out right now. Um,
03:40My Reckless Abandon, it's called, uh, if Samba was not a fan of your music,
03:45what is the first song they should listen to? Oh, that's a great question for you guys.
03:49Someone wasn't a fan? No, Samba. No, that says someone, not Samba. If someone wasn't a fan of
03:55Five Seconds of Summer, what song should they listen to? I like my question better. If Samba wasn't
04:00a fan of your music? I would say, Scared I'll Never Sleep Again. Samba loves She Looks So Perfect.
04:05Everyone's a star. But did we mention Samba loves She Looks So Perfect? We love Samba. Our beef
04:12is squashed. Our beef is so squashed. He is a sweetheart and the way he welcomed us up on stage
04:19just then was so humble and it was very exciting for us. It's all love. We just started talking
04:24about Samba. Yeah, he's a good love. We love that kid. We love Samba. We love him. So, okay,
04:29so you guys have got the Everyone's a Star World Tour coming up, right? Or you guys are on it
04:33till the end of the year. We're in the middle of it. Till the end of the year. How do
04:36you handle being on
04:37the road for so long? Uh, we try pace ourselves. We try to surround ourselves with
04:42everybody's family and friends a lot. We don't really isolate too much. We always make sure
04:46we've got great people around us and really traveling the world is the best thing we could
04:51ever ask for. The things we get to see are almost indescribable. Um, it's, it's an incredible life.
04:57So, and you guys are spending a couple of nights in Chicago, right? After tonight, are you, you're in
05:01town for a couple of nights? Yeah, we're playing Salt Shadow on Saturday. Are you exploring the city? Are you,
05:06any plans around the city? Well, yeah, Callum's got loads of plans. Yep. Tell us what you're doing,
05:12Callum. Yeah, um, look, just meeting up with a bunch of my Chicago friends. I have heaps of them. Just
05:17heading into the bean. He has no fun. And, uh, yeah, we're playing an official Lola after-party set. Yes,
05:23at the Salt Shed. At Salt Shed, uh, which will be something extremely different for us. Yeah, what happens
05:28there? Uh, well, you had to buy tickets to find out, so. Honestly, it's going to be something we've
05:34never actually done before, so it's going to be really crazy, exciting, and we're actually more
05:38nervous for that than this. Really? It's a smaller venue, so it's more intimate. It's more intimate.
05:44Speaking of intimacy, not like that. I don't like where you're going with this. I'm not ready for this.
05:50No, you had a video during your performance where you guys were all beat up and bandaged
05:54because fans had gotten too overexcited. Has there ever been any incidents where you guys
05:59got hurt or injured because fans maybe got a little too handsy? No, I'll be honest with you.
06:05Our fans are very gentle. They're so gentle and sweet. They couldn't hurt a bug. Yeah, we have,
06:12we have never had any problems like that, honestly. One last question for you guys. Is there anything
06:16you're manifesting for the end of the year? We've only got a few months left. Is there anything
06:22here? 15 years as a band? 15 years is incredible. Just manifesting 15 more Lollapalooza. Yeah,
06:30Lollapalooza for every year that we're 15 years. Yeah, another 15 years together. Exactly, yeah.
