00:07a displaced teacher transformed her own tragedy into an opportunity,
00:11building an improvised school from scratch to keep her students' learning.
00:16Our correspondent, Belen de los Santos, has the details.
00:21Hello, studios. We're coming to you from La Guaira, particularly from Katia Lamar,
00:25next to the Cesar Nieves Stadium.
00:28It's a transitory camp, but this is the Urimare school.
00:31And, you know, we were here on Saturday.
00:33We learned about the stories, but we wanted to come back Monday morning
00:37because this is school day, finally.
00:40So I will let you see a little bit what is happening right now.
00:44Let's recall while I'll tell you the story.
00:46This is a little school that has been created inside the transitory camp by Urimare.
00:54She is a teacher and actually part of the direction team of a school here in La Guaira,
01:00a school that actually was affected by the earthquake and is in a very poor state in terms of its
01:08structure.
01:09Well, Urimare was also one of the people affected by the earthquake,
01:13and now she's staying in this transitory camp.
01:15But from that situation, she had an idea.
01:19She had a dream.
01:20And that dream was building a school for all the kids here in the transitory camp.
01:25She was convinced that they needed a place to continue that structure,
01:29to continue that education.
01:30And that dream is becoming a reality.
01:34She asked for the different donations because she said, and she said to us,
01:39the only thing I know how to do is teach, and I want to teach, but I do not have
01:44the tools.
01:44So she asked for the tools, and day by day she received the donations of the books,
01:49of the pencils, the materials, the tents that we are in right now.
01:53And today, this Monday, she has been carrying out these classes for a week,
01:58and today we have this scene.
02:00We wanted to come to be here, to be part of this school that is starting here
02:04in the Cesar Neves Stadium transitory camp.
02:07And it is a reality, one of the stories of resilience that are being born
02:12in the toughest times here in La Guaira.
