00:00Nature packed pointed gourd with antioxidants and vitamin C. Here is how to turn it into a simple
00:06DIY face mask. We all eat pointed gourd as a vegetable but its antioxidant rich in nutrients
00:11make it an interesting ingredient for DIY skincare aimed at achieving a brighter looking complexion.
00:18According to Ayurveda, pointed gourd is naturally cooling, helping to cool the skin
00:23balance with the body's heat energy and soothe inflammation. Its gentle nature
00:29also makes it suitable for most skin types during the summer. Wash, chop and blend 6 to 8 fresh
00:37pointed gourd into a smooth paste.
00:49Next, boil dried mahua flowers and frozen tulsi leaves together. Fresh ingredients can be used
00:55whenever they are available. According to Ayurveda, this soothing herbal infusion helps cool the skin,
01:01balance with the calm inflammation, refresh tired looking skin, promote a brighter looking complexion
01:07and naturally support healthy skin. Boil the mixture over low heat then turn off the heat and let it
01:14cool completely. Since I am making a face mask, I won't strain the infusion. Take the required amount
01:19of the mahua tulsi infusion, add the pointed gourd paste and mix everything well. Next, add 2 tablespoons of
01:26Amla powder and 1 double spoon of rose betel powder. Stir until everything is evenly combined and your face mask
01:33is ready to use. Amla is naturally rich in vitamin C which supports collagen production and helps protect the skin
01:40from free radical damage. Rose betel powder is rich in antioxidants and helps soothe the skin. Apply an
01:47even layer to clean skin, avoiding the eyes and lips. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse
01:54with
01:54cool water. Use this mask 2 to 3 times a week. Always do a patch test before first use.
