Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail has urged all political parties and their supporters to remain peaceful and abide by the law following the Negri Sembilan state election.

Speaking after visiting the SM KGV polling centre on Saturday (Aug 1), Mohd Khalid said police are closely monitoring the post-election period to prevent any unrest, particularly if there is a change in the state administration.

00:35He said police have received 92 election-related reports since nomination day
00:41and opened 24 investigation papers, including four involving alleged vote-buying.
00:46Most of the cases involve vandalism of party banners and flags.
00:51Mohamed Khalid said generally,
00:52the election process in the 36 constituencies has been smooth.
00:58A total of 5,500 police personnel have been deployed throughout the election
01:03with 26 hotspot areas under close monitoring.
01:06He appealed to the public to maintain peace and order
