The Director General of Police in West Bengal has confirmed two deaths related to post-election violence since the election results were announced.

00:00Bengal DGP confirming two deaths have taken place due to the post-election violence.
00:06Since the results were declared, compared to remember the past two decades when it was more
00:11like a norm in Bengal that there would be post-election violence and some of it very gruesome
00:15with allegations of rape also coming in earlier. This time, at least there was a sigh of relief
00:20that even though there have been instances of vandalism, there haven't been deaths or casualties.
00:25However, Bengal Director General of Police urging to maintain calm,
00:28saying no one should take law and order in their own hands. 500 companies of CRPF have been deployed
00:33but has confirmed that in the recent incidents that have taken place, two deaths have been confirmed
00:40due to the post-election violence ever since basically that the results were announced.
00:44So 500 companies of the CRPF have been deployed, additional 200 companies are in reserve.
00:50Now, this is not about today. So there was no fresh case of violence today but ever since 4th of

00:56when the results were announced, there were some sporadic incidents that were reported.

01:17Where are you picking up the details from about where these deaths have occurred, when, any details of that?
01:25Well, we have seen for the past three days, several incidents of violence took place
01:31and three deaths reported in the past three days and one in Nanur where allegedly a TNC worker was hacked
01:44to death
01:44and the second death was placed in Belenghata in Kolkata where again TNC has alleged that the worker has been
01:54hacked to death.
01:55And yesterday itself in Newtown, a BJP worker died and later the BJP supporters and the BJP candidate who born
02:09from the Newtown chief,
02:11Hirush Kanodia has also alleged that the BJP worker, he was the Mandal president of Newtown, Madhu Mandal, was hacked
02:20to death.
02:20But later, when we spoke to police, police said that there were altercations taking place and he had a heart
02:29attack.
02:30That is what a post-mortem report is saying.
02:32So, police is saying that two deaths have been confirmed in the last three days
02:37and a lot of incidents of arson and vandalism in TNC offices are happening.
