A state election in Negri Sembilan is unlikely for now despite ongoing political uncertainty in the state, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Responding to questions on whether polls could be called, the Pakatan Harapan chairman said any decision to dissolve the state assembly would depend on the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

00:44The situation follows a move by Barisan National in Negeri Sembilan
00:48to withdraw support for the state government, led by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
00:55State UMNO Chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin, Alia, said,
00:59all 14 UMNO Assemblymen had lost confidence in Aminuddin's leadership,
01:04citing the handling of a state royal crisis.
01:08Barisan National holds 14 seats in the state assembly,
01:12while Pakatan Harapan has 17 and Perikatan National holds 5.
01:18Aminuddin has said he will continue his duties for now after receiving the ruler's consent,
01:24adding that the state government will continue to function as usual.
01:28The crisis began on April 19th, when four undang moved to remove the ruler over alleged misconduct.
