The demonstrations in 1989 in Leipzig were the beginning of the end for communist East Germany. Back then,Aram Radomski and Siegbert Schefke secretly filmed the protests and smuggled the tapes across the border so they could be broadcast in West Germany. In this way the world was able to see how the people in the East were rising up against their oppressive regime.
