Trump speaks on who's to blame for cyberattack on Minnesota water systems

President Donald Trump pushed back against claims that Iran was responsible for the recent cyberattacks targeting multiple water systems in Minnesota, instead placing the blame on the state's leadership. Speaking at the start of a televised Cabinet meeting at Camp David, Trump said, "Today I just want to mention that, we heard in Minnesota there was a cyberattack, and they blame it on Iran. I don't think so. I think I blame it on Minnesota because they're grossly incompetent." He further criticized state officials, adding, "There was a cyberattack of 30 water plants, and I would blame it on Minnesota and the governor, the corrupt governor of Minnesota. They like to say, 'Oh, it's Iran.' Iran should be so lucky. Iran's got bigger problems than worrying about Minnesota." Trump's remarks came after reports citing unnamed U.S. officials suggested the attacks were likely carried out by Iranian hackers, though investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
