Learn how to scan a picture of a QR code on your phone or computer in 2026. In this tutorial, I show you the easiest ways to scan a QR code from a photo or screenshot using an iPhone, Android device like the Samsung Galaxy S25, or a Windows PC and Mac with tools like QRCodeGadget. This means you can open the link behind any QR code image saved to your camera roll or computer without needing to point your camera at a physical code.

00:00how to scan a QR code on any device.
00:02In this video, I'm gonna show you a couple different ways
00:04that you can scan QR codes with any device.
00:07Doesn't matter if you have an iPhone, Android phone,
00:09Chromebook, or even a computer, anything like that.
00:12And you don't even need a camera if you don't have one.
00:14So if you have a phone, really all you need to do
00:17is open up the camera on your phone.
00:19And as you'll see here, if I capture the QR code
00:23in the camera, it'll bring up the link
00:25and I can just select that and it'll open up the QR code.
00:28Same thing with an Android phone here.
00:29It'll bring it up right there.
00:32And then I can select it.
00:33So really easy on any device, really with a camera,
00:36all you need to do is aim the camera at the QR code
00:39and it should scan it.
00:41Now, if for some reason that doesn't work for you
00:42or you're on a different device,
00:43we can use a website that I actually created
00:46called qrcodegadget.com.
00:48And I made this website because I wanted to be able
00:49to recommend a tool that doesn't upload any
00:52of the scanned images to a server, anything like that.
00:55All the scanning and decoding happens within the browser
00:58on your device using JavaScript.
00:59And check the description of a link down there.
01:01Once you get to qrcodegadget.com,
01:03select QR code scanner, give it access to your camera.
01:07And then all you need to do is get the QR code in there
01:10and it'll automatically scan it for you.
01:12And you could see the decoded results.
01:15Now, if you don't have a camera,
01:16you can also use QR code gadget to scan QR codes
01:19by taking a picture of the QR code.
01:22Or if the QR code is on your phone,
01:25take a screenshot of it.
01:26So I'm gonna take a picture of it.
01:27Then just open the QR code decoder
01:29and find that image on your phone.
01:32Give it access to the image, choose that image,
01:34and then it will automatically decode it for you
01:36and give you the QR code contents
01:39without having to actually scan it with your phone.
01:42It just scans the picture.
01:43So those were three different ways to scan QR codes
01:45on any device.
01:46If this video helped you, give it a thumbs up
