00:00I mean within the last year or so I wouldn't say South East Water has the
00:04best reputation among residents or perhaps nationally as water companies
00:07stand. What are you going to do differently that your predecessor David
00:12Hinton you think didn't do well enough? So I've got some really clear priorities
00:16which are totally focused on making a difference quickly. So the first priority
00:22is about focusing on the little things in terms of making sure that our
00:27operations are resilient in other words that there is water available so all of
00:32the small things don't take months don't take years they'll take weeks. And a lot
00:36of residents in these affected of half-screened areas did get a message
00:39to didn't they on their phone saying to use water was only for essential
00:43purposes. Is it fair to almost deflect that responsibility to the public when the
00:49water company has a duty to providing that water? So I can only say sorry
00:55that we're not in a position where customers get as much water as they would
01:00like all of the time so so I completely acknowledge that and accept it. But it
01:06also what I would say is that as well as all of the things that we need to do
01:11reduce leakage improve the resilience of our infrastructure help customers use
01:17water wisely. What I would say is that to make sure that these times of incredibly hot
01:23weather and water demand stress these times of incredible stress that just a
01:29small change in terms of how customers use water will mean that everybody can
01:34have water and that we don't get these interruptions to supply. Residents you know
01:39who you serve in your patch they've not had water during heat waves might have had to
01:43shut their businesses they're probably incredibly disillusioned with Southeast
01:47Water how can they still have faith in in you as CEO and within Southeast Water as a
01:54company? So I can understand why why our customers are questioning the future and
02:02my background is infrastructure I'm an engineer chartered engineer I spent 30
02:06years in large complicated infrastructure organizations and many of those years have
02:13been transforming and changing and providing leadership and direction and
02:19although it sounds a bit technical great asset management so looking after the
02:23infrastructure the reservoirs the pipe work the water treatment breaks I've done
02:27this before based on the fact that we've got some amazing people I'm really
02:32sure we can make changes
