01:43offense looked pretty good you were out there day two of camp dq opens things up by saying uh allegretti's
01:49got a calf strain burks has foot soreness they won't be going today we're not exactly sure when
01:53they're coming back how big of a deal is that and how big of a deal is that as it
01:58relates to
01:58roster construction i mean i i think they're both a big deal um because as everybody has talked about
02:04they don't have a defined right now number two receiver um and because burks has got an injury
02:12history and because he would be the most logical person right now unless they go to stefan diggs to
02:19fill that role not definitively but the most logical person or candidate allegretti i think is bigger deal
02:27probably because we already knew they were somewhat questionable in terms of their makeup at that
02:33position and starting with allegretti and we both love nick i mean nick's a great guy sure stouter body i
02:39think is going to help and experience and he's a natural center but like they were already somewhat
02:45questionable at that position if julian good jones no offense has got to play a lot you know now he
02:52looked better yesterday than i saw him at any point in camp last year so i i'm willing to adjust

03:01observation point gulbin looked okay on a couple of snaps that i watched um so that maybe gave me a
03:08little bit of um i guess optimism but i would still say that's the bigger worry for me out of
03:15the two
03:16and as far as the offense goes back on wednesday and really yesterday jp i i maybe i'm seeing the
03:23wrong thing or a different thing than you i still think they look choppy they make some play sure they
03:30make plays there's no doubt about it but they look choppier and especially compared to if you're
03:36comparing it to the defense so far they look choppier i thought day one the offense looked pretty good
03:42i thought day two the defense certainly won the day i also think when you're running red zone early in
03:48camp the defense should look better it's like fair fair and i like pads or anything did you like that
03:54they ran red zone as heavy as they did on on wednesday because to me i like even though it
04:00wasn't
04:00like a overwhelming problem last year they weren't good enough in it i think the red zone problems last
04:06year were the dysfunction of the run game okay i mean but to your question did you like that they

04:19how he builds out his practices and i think this is a part of this ramp up and all these

04:23emphasize red zone on day one as much as they did not a period as much as they did two

04:30stuff when you emphasize that i think that sends a mental message hey guys we weren't good enough
04:35there we weren't horrible but we weren't good enough and the difference between winning seven games and
04:42nine games could be two or three trips in the red zone sure totally um what do you think
04:52runs better watching this so circling back to center i like allegretti i like the decision to
04:59go with allegretti yeah that's a player i don't i don't have a major problem not much depth there
05:03yeah i also think if this was a month from now it would have gone to gulbin and not good

05:09you could absolutely be right and that's the way i've kind of looked at it but it's not the way

05:14played out so far but to your point julian good jones has more experience than gulbin but i that's
05:20exactly the way i look i also think they're going to pick up a veteran center after roster cuts
05:24and that's that's the other way because even if gulbin impresses and again i watched him on a
05:30couple of snaps yesterday he rode uh he rode a dude out uh very cleanly on an interior push
05:36uh i forget who it was uh one of the backup defensive linemen uh 57 i want to say um
05:41and
05:42looked clean doing it okay on one play that specifically i was really isolated on him on
05:48but we all know how cerebral that position is and it's really hard like when chase rullier was
05:55drafted in the sixth round out of wyoming he didn't start immediately at center right i think he did did
06:00did he i thought it was year two but or maybe late in year one could be correct i i'm
06:05i can't say for
06:07sure i mean callahan obviously drafted him and developed him and they had high hopes for him and
06:11they turned out to be right until his injury got derailed by injuries he was good for a number
06:16yeah absolutely but i don't know if he started right away okay i'm pulling it maybe he did uh i
06:20thought it was maybe licked and tiger still he started seven games in his rookie season played in
06:2513 all right so maybe he maybe those seven games i would have to go back and look maybe they
06:29were
06:29later i don't remember you know but to ask a sixth round rookie center slash guard to start week one
06:37would be a lot to ask so if it doesn't come back can we pause it's july 31st yes i

07:37daniel's just in maybe a different way the patriots offensive line isn't i don't believe as good as
07:43strong as yes and he was banged up down the stretch he was horrible but they're not as strong on

07:50offensive line as i think the commanders are when the commanders are healthy and ready to go shot out
