00:15but insisted it would press ahead and give all 211 member associations the chance to vote on the proposal.
00:24Under the proposal, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said FIFA would create a $20 billion commercial subsidiary
00:31to run the World Cup and its other tournaments before selling up to a 20% stake to private investors.
00:38UFA has accused FIFA of putting the sport's soul up for sale.
00:42Its 55 member associations voted to boycott all FIFA tournaments if the proposal goes ahead.
00:48Infantino responded by insisting that nobody is selling football.
00:53Opposition has also spread beyond Europe.
00:56North and Central America's Football Confederation rejected the proposal,
00:59while Asia's Football Confederation said it was never consulted
